Tony Hill 2 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:19:32 Yes, Bill, wonderful – though a couple of penalties and an own-goal should see them right. Jeff Armstrong 3 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:19:39 Plus 2 disallowed, could have been 4-0 to the ðŸ's! Peter Carpenter 4 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:20:22 Haha, 2-0. Look at this from a fan on the BBC, 'goalkeepers ALWAYS have the best game against us. It's just not fair. I'm sick and tired of it!'To be fair, it's probably a 7-year-old in Norway, so shouldn't laugh too much. Joe McMahon 5 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:22:43 Brentford and their manager are a breath of fresh air, and it certainly looks like the Brentford players "Get Brentford". Nick Page 6 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:22:59 Get a few quid on Satan FC, who should be 4 fucking nil down, the poxy twats. Michael Boardman 7 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:23:22 They asked the age-old question, Joe: "What would Everton do?" Danny O’Neill 8 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:24:05 Brentford look really good.Very positive team. That was a good point by us earlier this season.Liverpool all over the place. I can see Klopp's Jack Nicholson nervous smile emerging.Best I keep my mouth shut. Tony Everan 9 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:24:17 Great stuff from the Bees, unlucky not to be 3-up. RS living up to their name tonight, some distinctly average players in their team. Leicester were very unlucky against them the other night too. Michael Boardman 10 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:25:54 The 7-year-old in Norway is blind to the fact that Toney just happens to miss this game, and Grover misses it with concussion (assume he tried to eat his own head?). But hey, GK's always have a worldie against them, hence why they have never won a single trophy on penalties Rob Halligan 11 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:26:48 Unfortunately the two disallowed goals were the correct decision, but it was still shite defending from the shite. And excuse me, but 㿼M for that Nunez? 😂😂😂😂 Michael Boardman 12 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:27:11 Danny, I saw that on the BBC – here's Kloppy – I can see a very funny meltdown happening very soon. Best get the asthma medication ready... Nick Page 13 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:33:35 Bingo's lost it but Beelzebub will show up for second half. Watch… Duncan McDine 14 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:33:51 I'm saying nothing just yet. Those shitbags will find a way back into this game somehow… Jeff Armstrong 15 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:38:05 Offside surely? Bill Gall 16 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:39:54 My, my... they have replaced the unbeatable VVD, and the commentator had the nerve to say Brentford has had favourable decisions from the VAR. They have all been the right calls. Duncan McDine 17 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:40:45 That VAR decision took way longer than was required. Officials probably trying to find some way of making the goal count... Gerry Quinn 18 Posted 02/01/2023 at 18:59:50 3-1 yet? Michael Boardman 19 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:01:03 For fuck's sake – even a one-legged man gets the breaks for them. We can see where this is going… All they need now is for Branson / Musk to buy them to truly be the AntiChrist club. Tony Everan 20 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:03:51 Darwin still evolving by the looks of it. Gerry Quinn 21 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:04:59 Obviously BBC are pissed off cos the RS report is some 22 minutes ago now!!!!! Michael Boardman 22 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:05:36 Exactly Gerry. Just basking in the glory! Michael Boardman 23 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:08:14 Stevie G (who of course was totally moving away from the RS and was professional in everything he did at Villa), has just left the Anfield Road stand toilets (row G position), and the BBC have thankfully updated me – and to think I cleaned by downstairs bog today in case he turned up! Duncan McDine 24 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:16:49 Get in!!! Tony Everan 25 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:17:20 Referee getting pathetically mobbed by the RS, nothing wrong with that goal at all. Jeff Armstrong 26 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:17:28 Klopp gone full Jack Torrance there! Bill Gall 27 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:17:51 Every Liverpool player complaining around the ref, having a meeting in the middle of the pitch, maybe planning a piss-up after the game? Danny O’Neill 28 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:18:00 Defender got bullied and wasn't strong enough.Jurgen can gnash those Ross from Friends teeth at the 4th official all he wants. Rob Halligan 29 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:18:04 3-1. I thought for a minute the gobshite players were having a meeting and were going to walk off. Brendan McLaughlin 30 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:19:09 Get in... 3-1!!! Michael Boardman 31 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:20:01 And the BBC still telling us of Take Two – it's officially game on! Soren Moyer 32 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:20:51 Klopp is a disgrace, to be honest, and gets away with his shenanigans all the time! Dennis Stevens 33 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:21:41 Apparently: "BBC Sport is aware of a delay in updates appearing in the text commentary and is working to fix the issue"... Michael Boardman 34 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:22:08 Agree Soren – just like Ferguson and Wenger used to do. Mourinho used to get a ban for farting, and Fat Frank for saying it how it is... Jim Bennings 35 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:22:43 Brentford are fuckin boss to watch, to be fair. Michael Boardman 36 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:23:39 Thanks, Dennis – hopefully they will be aware of my delay in licence payments on the understanding I am working to fix the issue, in much the same way Jurgen will be working to fix the RS "injury crisis". Tony Everan 37 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:23:48 Still time for a fourth! Rob Halligan 38 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:27:24 Can't wait for Bingo's rant later on. Dennis Stevens 39 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:27:25 Haha, Michael! They're useless. When announcing the death of former Celtic & St Mirren striker Frank McGarvey, their headline described him as being "former Celtic & Liverpool" – just because he spent a season in their Central League team! Ian Bennett 40 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:27:28 The FA should stamp out this disgraceful manager's behaviour. It has a huge impact on adult and kids grassroots football every weekend because parents, players and coaches think that's how you behave. Paul Birmingham 41 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:31:16 Superb result, great effort by Brentford, who were superb even without Toney.Mr Ed was in usual rant mode, he should be charged for bringing the game into disrepute on repeat aggregated charges for unprofessional conduct on the touch line. Now for Everton to do the business v Brighton. Nick Page 42 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:32:28 Brilliant by Brentford. Cracking stadium too. Michael Boardman 43 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:33:02 It's only a matter of time before Klopp bites someone's face off Duncan McDine 44 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:34:55 Micah Richards rubbing salt into the wound of his RS mate – he'll be lucky if he doesn't get a face full of phlegm off that shithouse. Danny O’Neill 45 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:35:08 Brilliant by Brentford. A joy to watch and not just because it was against Lucifer's children.Made up for them. Very well run club that has progressed and good manager too. Brian Murray 46 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:35:36 Get innnn! Have we got the wrong Frank? Get the Brentford one! Michael Boardman 47 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:35:39 This is getting funny – Newcastle are comfortably Top 4, and haven't even started to spend properly yet! Duncan McDine 48 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:40:07 I was planning on having my first day for a couple of weeks with no booze, but Brentford have made a mess of that plan. Danny O’Neill 49 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:42:12 Michael @6, I've just said it to Brian Murray. Klopp will go into meltdown soon.He did in his last season at Dortmund. Get the popcorn out. Brian Murray 50 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:44:33 Klopp only one ball boy attack from being finished in football... Rob Halligan 51 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:47:48 There was a moment in the second half when Brentford had a throw-in, yet Bingo was holding the ball. No doubt "time-wasting by Brentford" will spew out from within those teeth!! Peter Carpenter 52 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:51:26 We need to aspire to Brentford's standard. There's so much that's good about them. Sadly, the incompetent clowns running our club probably still think we're just one major signing away from the top four. Still, we've had some good times, haven't we? Danny O’Neill 53 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:56:33 Win tomorrow and we are almost within 3 games of them with half a season to go.FA Cup on Friday. I'm being me and you can shout at me all you want for being a dick.I hope its a long and slow trip back for them tonight. Every single one of them. Rob Halligan 54 Posted 02/01/2023 at 19:58:15 Danny, they have only got about as far to travel as you have when you go to Brentford, Fulham or Chelsea. Danny O’Neill 55 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:00:43 That's a fair shout, Rob. I hope the tubes are on strike and Uber is charging double. Nick Page 57 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:16:59 According to Bingo, it should probably have been 4-0 to the murderers. Soft get. Can't stand the way the media all crawl up the big gobshite's arse. Peter Carpenter 58 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:24:58 He's going to need a Hannibal Lecter mask soon. Rob Halligan 59 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:26:31 Gary Neville has a pop at the RS, and spit the dog throws a wobbler! Love it! Michael Boardman 60 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:27:17 Fat Frank should have kept Duncan until the derby, then just let him loose on Bingo – Fredi Bobic / Sharner style as he ran up the touchline. Teeth, beard, shiny tracksuit top – the works. I'd have paid the price of a season ticket just for that. Danny O’Neill 61 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:27:26 Last time out, Mark, I met up with Rob, Brent and a few at the Half Moon (Spoons) near Stepney Green Station.I'm softly spoken but they done their best impression of not being scouser. They failed. It was fine, fans mixing and we all travelled to the stadium together. There are a couple of pubs near to Kings Cross / St Pancras as well. Brian Murray 62 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:28:43 Two Mancs, Arsenal and Newcastle for Top 4. Is this the beginning of the end of the Sky Darlings. Michael Boardman 63 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:30:31 I hope the Toon do get in there. I have a soft spot for Eddie Howe as he's a Blue. Mark Murphy 64 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:54:53 Cheers, Danny. To be honest, my accent doesn't help either way, I get more stick off our fans than other clubs' – I'm a wool! UTFT Dennis Stevens 65 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:56:39 There's plenty of us about, Mark! Rob Halligan 66 Posted 02/01/2023 at 20:56:49 Demarai Gray's strike from all angles on the club website. Jordan Pickford's reaction is brilliant.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=165GloSJRJk Mark Murphy 67 Posted 02/01/2023 at 21:02:55 In fact, it was at the West Ham fixture last season that I nearly had enough. Two piss-heads after the game took a totally bizarre view of an innocent comment I made and, after telling me I should support Man Utd, loudly shouted that I was a effin disgrace, arousing the interest of a mob getting on the coaches who smelt blood and moved towards me. It was only thanks to the calm intervention of a big black lad who ushered me away that I got away without a kicking for nothing more than an accent developed just 12 miles from Goodison Park. Michael Boardman 68 Posted 02/01/2023 at 23:14:10 Same here, Mark, although my near kicking came from a bunch of RS while they were coming back from a Bolton match on a train from Wigan (I was on my way back to St Helens from Preston). I smacked one of them as they were giving a lady some grief, and suddenly, we were all scousers together, even though I sounded like Jonny Vegas! Dave Abrahams 69 Posted 03/01/2023 at 11:57:52 Mark (67), I've seen what you talk about a few times at Goodison Park: Bluenoses with a different accent getting grief. One game versus Norwich, we got beat 4-2, first game of the season, and a young lad getting verbal abuse from a few with the physical stuff not far away. I got hold of him and walked him away from the dickheads, they never followed us.Another time, a young Spurs fan, with his girlfriend, took a smack off this big bully of a lad. Before I could get to him, a fella I knew from town was right into this thug and gave him one right on the jaw, telling him “If you want to fight, pick on a man, not a kid!" Gave him loads more verbals and the thug took seconds and done one, while he took the lad and his girlfriend along Netherfield Road and waited at a bus stop and put them on the bus to Lime Street. Most of these bullies attack in a gang and are mostly useless on their own. I've seen it happen to Bluenoses in different places, especially Manchester. Rob Halligan 70 Posted 04/01/2023 at 19:59:35 Forest ahead. Absolute dire by Southampton though. Gave the ball needlessly away on the halfway line for Johnson to sprint away and square for Awoniyi to score. Bill Gall 71 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:01:55 And that grand old team Nottingham Forest go above us. Will Mabon 72 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:03:19 Plopped us down into the zone of pain, Rob... Rob Halligan 73 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:03:35 Bill, Notts Forest haven't gone above us as there is still an hour to play. Eddie Dunn 74 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:04:55 Compare Forest's energy to ours...! Will Mabon 75 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:05:37 Rob, I KNEW you'd say that! Gary Johnson 76 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:09:17 Southampton, Bournemouth and Us will be 5-8 points adrift by Easter. There ARE 3 particularly shit teams this year, we are just one of them now. Andrew Grey 77 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:12:56 Forest's 2nd away goal of the season... I wonder who they scored the other one against? Kevin Molloy 78 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:14:21 come on Leeds you fucking muppets Kevin Molloy 79 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:15:20 o my prophetic soul! Rob Halligan 80 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:16:41 Now wolves are ahead. Dennis Stevens 81 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:32:40 I'm just surprised WHU aren't also winning! Michael Lynch 82 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:33:17 Currently second bottom.Fuck. Jim Bennings 83 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:57:44 Every other club down there seems to have a bit of heart and bottle and grab unlikely wins. That's what worries me most this season. Dennis Stevens 84 Posted 04/01/2023 at 20:58:31 It was only a matter of time! Dennis Stevens 85 Posted 04/01/2023 at 21:44:08 In the bottom three - will they give him until we fail to beat Southampton? Kieran Kinsella 86 Posted 04/01/2023 at 21:49:58 Get Friday out of the way and we can focus on trying to get relegated. 87 Posted 04/01/2023 at 21:50:06 At least WHU and Wolves haven't escaped from our orbit. Any of the current bottom 7 could easily go down. Danny O’Neill 88 Posted 04/01/2023 at 23:02:49 Well, it could have been worse tonight. In the bottom 3 but only 2 points off Leicester. Still a lot of teams in the mix. No escaping we are one of them, but to Rob's recent article, if I was one of them, I'd be nervous. We can only take care of our own results, but tonight didn't fall too badly for us.I mostly get on well with supporters of other clubs. Both when I travel to watch Everton and when I sit in my local watching us and football in general on the screen. You get the odd idiot on all sides, but generally, football unites people from different backgrounds and support bases. I agree on the Manchester calls Dave Abrahams. Some pretty tasty visits to Maine Road and Old Trafford back in the day. Kevin Molloy 89 Posted 04/01/2023 at 23:21:29 that Soton game is absolutely key. if we keep Lampard for that rather than changing the guard it will be a disaster. if he wins it, it probably gives him breathing space for another month, time for him to spend what precious funds we have on more dross. And if we lose it it's an avoidable loss given to us by this useless useless board. Danny O’Neill 90 Posted 04/01/2023 at 23:26:45 Harry Kane outstanding tonight by the way. One of the most complete all round strikers I've seen since Graeme Sharp. Michael Kenrick 92 Posted 05/01/2023 at 21:22:30 Relentless attacking by City finally yields a goal. Tony Abrahams 93 Posted 05/01/2023 at 21:31:49 I just went on BBC sport to check the score Michael, and ended up reading a quite remarkable stat. (if it's actually true). Van Nistelroy scored over 150 goals in 219 games I think it said.During the 5 seasons he was at United, they only won the league once, but they had won the league, three seasons on the bounce before he arrived at the club, and then won the league another 3 seasons on the bounce, after he left the club. They were saying United never needed a great goal scorer, and are asking if Harland is going to have a similar effect on City, who seem to have really changed their game, to incorporate him into the side? Many Evertonians said the same thing about the effect the 40 goals in one season Gary Linekar, had on our great team. Bill Gall 94 Posted 05/01/2023 at 21:54:46 1 goal was enough for City not a bad game Dave Lynch 95 Posted 05/01/2023 at 21:57:27 For me that's blown the Potter theory out of the window. He can't buy a win with world class footballers...christ knows how he'd have faired with us. Tony Abrahams 96 Posted 05/01/2023 at 22:15:20 Interesting Dave, but they are very long in the tooth those Chelsea players, and most observers felt that Potter, made a silly move for everything except his bank balance, when he chose to leave Brighton, and go to Stamford Bridge. I remember reading on these pages last season, that someone had claimed to have been on a Brighton fans website, and claimed that a lot of fans were not very happy with Potter. He was being criticized for rarely overcommitting to get his side into offensive positions, (my memory of why they were being critical might not be correct) We will find out soon enough? Bill Gall 97 Posted 12/01/2023 at 20:27:50 Chelsea down 1/0 to Fulham who fully deserve their lead having hit the bar earliar Steve Cotton 98 Posted 12/01/2023 at 20:33:17 William destroying Chelsea, signed on a free from Corinthians.. where are our scouts??? Barry Hesketh 99 Posted 12/01/2023 at 20:36:41 Steve @98Last I heard they were sitting round the campfire singing "Found a peanut" Steve Cotton 100 Posted 12/01/2023 at 20:38:57 Wouldn't surprise me Barry, it's great not to see a back 4 pass it back and forth 8 times and then back to the keeper to punt it out Bill Gall 101 Posted 12/01/2023 at 20:51:08 Chelsea definitely second best Fulham going forward no pass back and players moving the ball quickly not holding the ball and looking for someone to pass to. Dave Abrahams 102 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:04:00 Chelsea still trying to find their way under new owners, new manager and some new players including one signed in the last couple of days. They've lost a few on the run, low on confidence shown by the indecision of many of their passes and are second best to Fulham up to now, not helped by one of the new and poor referees but the game is not over yet. Michael Lynch 103 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:19:48 Harry Potter having no luck. Felix looked really good, then gets a red card and three game ban. Unbelievable, And an injury just before that, Dave Abrahams 104 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:25:01 Michael (103)I thought the referee was influenced by the theatrics of the Fulham player rolling over and the army of Fulham players demanding a red card, a poor tackle but no intention to hurt the Chelsea lad, no VAR used either. Rob Halligan 105 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:26:14 Dave, I don't think any one could argue with that red card. Bill Gall 106 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:32:12 Does any one else have problems with Fubo tv/ at the end of the first half my screen went blank kept trying to get it back on finally and Chelsea had scored and had a man sent off, worst coverage of the premier ever Rob Halligan 107 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:33:04 WTF was Kepa doing there? Caught in no man's land! Rob Halligan 108 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:33:50 2-1 Fulham, in case you've missed it, Bill. Bill Gall 109 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:44:57 Thanks Rob but I was back on when Fulham scored. I think Potter will have to go back to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry to keep his job Bill Gall 110 Posted 12/01/2023 at 21:59:46 Game over. Fulham win; well-managed team were playing better than Chelsea before they had a man sent off. Fulham have one of our ex-managers but he has improved from when he was with Everton. Rob Halligan 111 Posted 12/01/2023 at 22:06:37 Bill, Fulham are having a good season, and I think they could well have enough to beat Newcastle on Sunday. Should be an interesting game that one. Dave Abrahams 112 Posted 13/01/2023 at 10:05:20 Rob (105), I wouldn't argue too much about that tackle only to say there was no intent to injure his opponent and I've seen worse tackles escape a red and receive a yellow, including some by and against Everton players this season alone. Danny O’Neill 113 Posted 13/01/2023 at 10:49:06 No intent but a badly timed tackle that could have injured the player, so a red for me. Fulham and Silva doing well as it stands. The much admired Potter and Chelsea not so. I hope not for his sake and reputation, but it is looking more and more like Mike Walker from Norwich to Everton or David Moyes to United scenario. Some managers are better suited at smaller, well run clubs. Joe McMahon 114 Posted 13/01/2023 at 11:03:40 Danny, although I do agree, I would argue that Brighton are now a "bigger Club" than Fulham. In terms of stadium/facilities, growing fanbase and a rebranded image, all part of the South Coast. Brian Harrison 115 Posted 13/01/2023 at 11:31:37 Danny 113I think Potter at Chelsea is very much like Moyes at Man Utd. Neither have won anything in the top leagues and both have gone to clubs were their players have won everything. So from the get go they are under pressure as the players will view their appointments as why have we appointed someone to manage me who has never won a major trophy. And of course when they leave players out no doubt those players will not be happy and if results start badly then things unravel very quickly.Moyes only got 7 months at Man Utd and he bought Fellaini and Matta from Chelsea, and quite interesting that the managers who followed Moyes played both Fellaini and Matta. I also don't think enough was made of when he took over they were the Champions but a side who most of the players were at the end of their careers and needed changing. I think it will be interesting to see how long Potter gets if results don't turn round very quickly. Danny O’Neill 116 Posted 13/01/2023 at 11:55:17 I inadvertently and unintentionally may have suggested Everton are a well run club above!Joe, if you look at the stand Fulham has built on the banks of the Thames, their facilities are improving. There were very few supporters in it when we visited and got that hard won draw, but they are definitely progressing as a club.Especially when you consider were they where a few decades ago. Just like Brighton and Brentford. Bill Gall 117 Posted 13/01/2023 at 22:01:34 Danny on your comments of Fulham stadium I always wonder how the were allowed to move the wall behind the new stand further out into the Thames as the Thames River is a World Heritage Site under the Heritage society after the problems Everton had with them over a dock wall Tony Abrahams 118 Posted 13/01/2023 at 22:18:25 Brian@115, good points, well made, but if you don't do enough to make your players believe in you, or respect you, then I don't think you are ever going to succeed? If it's true that Moyes brought Phil Jagielka, into a conversation with the United defenders, and allegedly told them to watch how he reacted in certain situations, then I can see why he wasn't given a proper chance.Potter is probably in a similar situation, and getting success at Everton, (Moyes was actually perceived as being successful) or Brighton, is totally different to going into a changing room full of players, who both expect to win, but also expect that their manager, should be capable of showing them, how to win. If they don't believe the manager can show them how to win, then they will feel that he doesn't deserve a proper chance, and will act accordingly, although this won't stop any of them picking up their wages.
