Barry Hesketh 2 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:14:18 Marco Silva's Fulham very fortunate to still be in the FA Cup, the chances that Sunderland had to put the game to bed was unreal, although the Sunderland keeper made some good saves too. I'd keep an eye on that lad, he looks a top talent, mind you there's a few good young players in that Sunderland side that played today. Rob Halligan 3 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:36:29 Richarlison doesn't even make the bench for Spurs tonight, while Danjuma is on the bench. Is Ricky injured again, or just dropped altogether? Surely it's these type of games where you give your fringe players a game. Kieran Kinsella 4 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:41:54 RobAccording to The Daily Express, Danjuma was signed as a "Richarlison replacement." Rob Halligan 5 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:44:14 Seems an odd decision then, Kieran. I know that Danjuma could become permanent in the summer, so does that mean Richarlison could be on his way out?Tom Cannon starts for Preston. Lee Courtliff 6 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:46:11 Replacement? Surely Spurs can't be offloading Richy already? He's only been there 2 minutes and hardly given much of a chance. Kieran Kinsella 7 Posted 28/01/2023 at 17:48:02 RobYou know how Conte is. Wants to buy a whole new team every window. Never satisfied with the squad but if he goes I imagine Rich would be given more time by someone saner. Jeff Armstrong 8 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:00:31 Richie on loan to us to save us again? Promise them first refusal on Pickford if he chooses to leave. Barry Hesketh 9 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:01:45 This Commentator for PNE v Spurs must get a bonus every time he mentions Liverpool or any association with it. is it Guy Mowbray? Tony Everan 10 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:03:21 Conte said Richarlison is not available and is just a few days away from being ready. Looking forward to see how Cannon gets on. Kieran Kinsella 11 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:05:05 Ledson to get a hatrick of assists for Canon. John Keating 12 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:15:48 Nice to see Ledson and CannonGreat to see them both do well against Spurs Jeff Armstrong 13 Posted 28/01/2023 at 18:48:26 Tom Cannon has held the ball up well, and distributed it well too. Peter Carpenter 14 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:34:05 Really hoping Danjuma is crap. Tony Everan 15 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:34:16 The hijacked one has come on as a sub. Peter Carpenter 16 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:44:13 Bollocks Rob Halligan 17 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:44:27 And just scored. Joe McMahon 18 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:46:30 Unbelievable! Jon Bentley 19 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:46:42 Lucky finish. Mis-hit and the defender slipped. He's not the next Messi Joe McMahon 20 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:49:28 Jon@19, you are talking to supporters of a club that doesn't score goals and has a history of being low scoring. We would take lucky goals all day long! Tony Everan 21 Posted 28/01/2023 at 19:54:17 I felt like the commentators were rubbing salt in the wounds …oooh Danjuma this Danjuma that …good runs, looks fit, looks hungry ….for fucks sake, talk about taking the piss. Half of these media luvvies are wallowing in it. Jon Bentley 22 Posted 28/01/2023 at 20:42:26 Joe @20 very fair shout Tony Everan 23 Posted 28/01/2023 at 21:25:47 What's Andy Carroll doing there? Brain the size of a pea. Danny O’Neill 24 Posted 29/01/2023 at 09:51:42 Andy Carroll. Possibly one of the most overrated players I've seen. Although conversely and ironically, on his day, unplayable. Just not often enough. Kind of reminds me of our very own Duncan Ferguson (the player). On the FA Cup thread, now that Rashford is focussed on his football again, he is starting to flourish and realise his talent.Watching him come in on that left hand side, he makes me thing he is a Rolls Royce version of Anthony Gordon. And he has that important attribute; he's got goals in him. Danny O’Neill 25 Posted 29/01/2023 at 14:55:44 Wide open this one. Both teams giving the ball away. Liverpool missing Mane in my opinion Simon Dalzell 26 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:17:18 What a JOKE. Disgusting assault by Fabinho. Certain red. One earlier aswell. Some justice now GET IN. Dirty B...... Rob Halligan 27 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:20:30 How many more times is VAR going to let these bastards get away with over the top challenges, studs being raked down the achillies, or being taken out outside the area, without a red card being shown? There were easily two red cards in five minutes for the RS, but VAR doesn't want to know. Although, the foul by Konate on MacAllister cannot be checked by VAR as it was outside the area. 2-1. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Rob Halligan 28 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:22:31 VAR studying every possible angle and camera to try and disallow the goal. Brian Williams 29 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:25:22 Woohoo! A little ray of sunshine!!!! Simon Dalzell 30 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:26:54 YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike Doyle 31 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:28:35 As usual the FA / VAR protecting one of their favourites. One clear red and one close one in the last 10 mins. Congratulations Brighton - justice was done. Paul Birmingham 32 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:36:53 A very good weekend, all considered, made better. As Ive said a few times of late, VAR and RS, crooked referees, is another of Old Nicks pact with them!Well done Brighton, a credit to football, and the fair game.UTFTs! Tony Everan 33 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:41:52 Well done Brighton and Mitoma. VAR bias yet again, a full frontal naked example of how it's being misused to try and protect their darling clubs. Rob Halligan 34 Posted 29/01/2023 at 15:42:00 Now it's all down to Carlo Magnifico to totally destroy their season. Horrible scumbag of a club, and vile rats as fans. Though we've got nothing to cheer about. ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™ Brian Williams 35 Posted 29/01/2023 at 16:07:10 Rob#34.You know what I like about you Rob? You openly hate everything about that club just as much as me! 👠James Hughes 36 Posted 29/01/2023 at 16:11:35 just heard the Brighton result on the car radio GETTT IINNN fuck the RS. A nice bit of news for once Barry Hesketh 37 Posted 29/01/2023 at 16:13:49 What's this can't review a decision because it's outside the box nonsense? Wasn't Allan sent off on the half-way line against Newcastle? Unless of course there is a new edict I didn't know about. That's a terrible tackle by Fabinho, how did he manage to escape a red? Watching on ITV+1 because I know the score now. That's an even worse one by Robertom. Danny O’Neill 38 Posted 29/01/2023 at 17:45:12 That Japanese left winger for Brighton looks a tidy player.Oh the looks on their faces. How satisfying. Some were giving Bill a run for his money on the tears.I hope they have a very long trip back to Plymouth and Camebridge.Says me!!! Ian Edwards 39 Posted 29/01/2023 at 17:53:18 Wrexham equalise. Sheff U have Jebbison up front who scored the winner at Goodison when they were just about relegated and we had the Italian Dinosaur counting his pension in the technical area having completely given up. Tony Everan 40 Posted 29/01/2023 at 17:57:36 Ndiaye who we made a 20m offer for yesterday on for the last 30 mins Rob Halligan 41 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:15:27 Barry # 37………….. I think the big difference being that no foul was given against Konate for the challenge on MacAllister, so quite rightly, VAR can't intervene, because it was outside the area. In other words, VAR does not over rule a non free kick. If you ask me, had a free kick been awarded, then Konate would have been shown a second yellow, and therefore a red, and we can't have that now, can we! Had it been inside the area, then VAR would have had no choice but to refer the referee to the pitch side monitor, award a penalty and send Konate off, which would have been a straight red as he was the last man. With Allan, it was different, because a red or yellow card can be up or down graded anywhere on the pitch. Though why VAR deemed the challenge by Allan to be a red, god knows. Barry Hesketh 42 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:21:26 Rob @40Thanks Rob, it makes sense, but doesn't that just allow referees to make no decision at all? I agree that Allan shouldn't have seen a red that night. Still doesn't explain the other two fouls not being upgraded to a red though I'm not sure Robertson was booked. I'm sure I heard that Lee Mason is a full-time VAR official now, does that mean that horrible bloke, gets to decide everything in every match or is he the only one capable of switching it on or off?Wrexham look as if they've put themselves into Round 5 Rob Halligan 43 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:23:04 Ndiaye gives the ball away and Wrexham break away to make it 3-2. Rob Halligan 44 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:30:05 Barry, the Fabinho one was a straight red card all day long, I think he knew himself he could be off. That was a dangerous challenge, right down a players Achilles could put him out the game for months, possibly ending his career. I've no idea what VAR could be thinking not to upgrade that to a red, especially when you see the likes of the one Allan got upgraded? Robertson was booked for his challenge, but again, no idea why VAR didn't upgrade it? Justice was done anyway, because Brighton scored their winner from that free kick. Barry Hesketh 45 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:38:29 Strange no highlights on ITV or BBC tonight, was looking forward to seeing the in depth analysis of the Brighton game. Rob Halligan 46 Posted 29/01/2023 at 18:49:34 Barry, what will be more interesting to watch will be Ref Watch on SSN tomorrow. No doubt Dermot Gallagher will say none of the fouls by RS players warranted a red card. The right call by the referee and VAR on all three counts. Will Mabon 47 Posted 29/01/2023 at 19:00:11 I don't know what happened to Gallagher, Rob, it's like they got to him. Some years back on TalkSport he was balanced and always spoke sense. He has gradually fallen apart. Been on the mandatory Big Six love-in course maybe. Danny O’Neill 48 Posted 29/01/2023 at 19:33:01 The Jack Nicholson smile look alike looked uncomfortable in his interviews today.Great match between Wrexham and Sheffield United. Really entertaining game. Why we all watch football and love the game. One thing; how can we have a competition that has VAR is some matches but not others? Surely there has to be a standard across the board? Tom Bowers 49 Posted 29/01/2023 at 23:14:52 Hard to believe VAR is still missing some obvious incidents. How was it that Fabinho never got a red? Oh, I forgot he is a red. Raking your studs on an opponents ankle or any other part of the leg is despicable and too many tackles like that are given yellows by incompetent referees. If it had been Pat Van Den Hawe he would have seen red and gotten 6 matches suspension.Shame on the officials and VAR!!! Matthew Williams 50 Posted 30/01/2023 at 10:05:18 Dyche should lock the squad together in a room to watch the Wrexham lads and say to them "that's the level of commitment and sheer bottle I want from you, for the remaining season".Had a cheeky fiver on the Dragons but sunk again with a late goal, gutted like...the transformation at that club is simply unreal now with such positivity as years ago the club was a bit of a basket case (I should know as I lived there),always had a soft spot for the place too but we as a club should have a similar forward looking vision and general belief! We need to back Dyche now and get behind the Blue Boys,as I still believe we can get out of the mire! Will Mabon 51 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:09:29 Wow, scored already... Barry Hesketh 52 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:17:43 Will @51,I switched it off following the Barcodes goal, ah well, we never even got close to a final or anything resembling success in Moshiri's tenure. Oh yeah we got the semi in 2016 but that was before the Iranian started interfering. Newcastle has gone from relegation certainties, to rich club contender in about 12 months. We've gone from pretty consistent top half to relegation fodder in 7 years. Rob Halligan 53 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:22:33 Well Barry, it's all down to Man Utd now to shut the fuckers up……….2-0. Barry Hesketh 54 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:25:24 Aye, for a change Man Utd will be hungry to win that trophy because they've gone 6 years without one. Will Mabon 55 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:26:18 Barry, main concern for me was continually seeing shots of Gordon in the stands, à la Abramovich back in the day, but not suffered so far.And now it's 2. Rob Halligan 56 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:29:19 There you go, Will!Followed by another! 2-1. I always knew putting Pope into my fantasy football team would work. Will Mabon 57 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:32:11 Our new forward delivers, Rob! Will Mabon 58 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:32:59 Was a nice hit. Will Mabon 59 Posted 31/01/2023 at 20:50:03 Referee NOT right. Not dangerous at all. Will Mabon 60 Posted 31/01/2023 at 21:40:39 Ward-Prowse basically held a disco against us at Goodison - barely seen him here. Pete Day 61 Posted 31/01/2023 at 21:44:10 Haven't we seen tackles like that against us that weren't red! 🤔 Rob Halligan 62 Posted 31/01/2023 at 21:44:54 Deserved red card for Guimaraes . VAR tell Tierney to review that disgusting challenge. Shame they didn't tell the ref in the Brighton v the RS game last Sunday to do the same. Will Mabon 63 Posted 31/01/2023 at 21:51:58 Rob, they're not quite into the Sky darlings club just yet. Will Mabon 64 Posted 31/01/2023 at 21:59:33 Geordies are doing that thing of not playing so well but getting the result.
