First, they paid respect to Marco and went fairly deep on the Fulham project. Selles appointed at Southampton, Gracia at Leeds and then some talk of that Moyes quality, yeah. The highlight was talk of a white paper that sets out to install an independent regulator. Finances could be monitored in real time with threat to the license if governance fails to reign in wildcat or negligent actions. They could even allow fans to veto excessive or inflammatory kit changes a la Vincent Bad Man Tan. Wow, just wow, and I haven't lit up for the game yet. Go, Cottagers, if that's your moniker. Dale Self 2 Posted 24/02/2023 at 20:25:49 Damn Fulham 0-1 Wolves. Wolves unfortunately look to be in good form. Fran Mitchell 3 Posted 24/02/2023 at 20:37:56 Wolves' form in the league since after the World Cup:W, L, D, W, L, W, L, W, L. So look set to win this one...It's gonna be such a tough battle to the very end of the season. Robert Williams 4 Posted 24/02/2023 at 20:40:16 Fulham 0 Wolves 1. FMP! Bill Gall 5 Posted 24/02/2023 at 20:46:25 Commentator just said Fulham haven't got going yet, wonder where they are going. Dale Self 6 Posted 24/02/2023 at 20:58:47 Funny Fran. They got Sarabia for ٣.5M and he may have justified it early. Kieran Kinsella 7 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:00:02 Palace may get drawn into the relegation battle. Their next five games are Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal plus away days at Villa and Brighton. They are on 26 points now. I can't imagine them picking up many in the next five – plus goal difference which is -10 could get decidedly worse. Joe McMahon 8 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:01:55 We really do need Fulham to win this. We really needed a goal scorer in the January window, as we won't stay up relying of defenders to score for us (like our 2 recent wins). The board may pay the price. Dale Self 9 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:05:50 Should be a good second half if Fulham pick it up Andy Crooks 10 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:13:34 What joy the custodians of our club have brought us. The pure excitement of fretting over every game between teams in the Bottom 12 and hoping for a crumb to make us safe. Dale Self 11 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:23:56 Nice. 1-1. Nick Page 12 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:24:24 Get the fuck in!!! Rob Halligan 13 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:28:26 Always makes me laugh when someone says when a team are leading, that they look set to win, despite there being more than half the game still to go. Dale Self 14 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:32:50 Wolves are reminding me of Uruguay — and not in a good way. Kieran Kinsella 15 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:37:56 Any time someone mentions Fulham, the first thing that comes into my head is Jimmy Hill. Bill Gall 16 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:43:55 I wonder if Jimmy Hill grew the beard to prevent him from stabbing someone with that pointy chin? Kieran Kinsella 17 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:48:15 Bill, Didn't he have one of those sort of Quaker beards where his face was shaven but it was hairy all around his jaw? Joe McMahon 18 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:52:23 Kieran, or the Micheal Jackson statue. Kieran Kinsella 19 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:57:28 Joe,That was freaking weird. Nick Page 20 Posted 24/02/2023 at 21:59:52 Wolves are not getting relegated. Lopetegui has turned a talented team around massively. Made an exciting Fulham team look quite average. Tony Hill 21 Posted 24/02/2023 at 22:18:45 If we win tomorrow, Nick, we go above them. Robert Tressell 22 Posted 24/02/2023 at 22:22:44 Nick #20, Lopetegui has done well. Only to be expected though after they invested heavily in Cunha, Sarabia, Lemina, Dawson and Joao Gomes in January. It was only injuries to Jiminez and Kalazjdic that saw them in the bottom places under Lage. Much tougher job for Dyche unfortunately. Dave Abrahams 23 Posted 25/02/2023 at 09:46:01 Fulham had their main striker out with injury; they missed him and will continue to do so while he is missing – taking nothing away from Wolves – they looked very good. Tony Hill 24 Posted 25/02/2023 at 18:29:34 Good news from Bournemouth. Tony Hill 25 Posted 25/02/2023 at 19:08:09 Nice finish that from Cannon today for Preston. Kieran Kinsella 26 Posted 26/02/2023 at 03:58:40 I saw the Newcastle fans “invade†Trafalgar Square today. What a disgrace. Desecrating our capital with their stupid flags and Newcie Brown bottles. These Geordie's have no place here. They're barely English. The Met should have sent in the riot squad and driven them out. Bill Gall 27 Posted 26/02/2023 at 13:47:30 Funny thing… Dier of Tottenham done the same tackle as Onana on a Chelsea player and was not booked. Dale Self 28 Posted 26/02/2023 at 14:22:57 Goodbye, Graham. Never liked you. Thank you Ziyech but wait…. Did they cancel the red card shown? Bill Gall 29 Posted 26/02/2023 at 14:23:28 Funny thing – a Chelsea player pushes a Tottenham player in the face and only gets a yellow. Anthony Murphy 30 Posted 26/02/2023 at 14:26:05 Good luck to Man Utd today. Those Kopite wannabes are unbearable enough. Trevor Peers 31 Posted 26/02/2023 at 14:38:23 Modern-day football can be an abomination: diving, cheating, overpaid charlatans. Spurs v Chelsea is the perfect example of how to cheat, what a bad advert for the Premier League and to youngsters watching. I bet none of these clubs receives a fine for fighting, no way the Top 6 are untouchable. It's years since I've been to a game and personally I'd never pay to watch these cretins in action ever again. Ray Roche 32 Posted 26/02/2023 at 14:59:29 I actually think the ref Atwell is having a decent game, letting it flow and not falling for all the play-acting. No red card for Ziyech, correct, but he should have yellow-carded Royal for pretending to take a punch. Cheating twat. Allen Rodgers 33 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:02:19 Surely Chelsea will lose patience with Potter if the score stays like this ? Danny O’Neill 34 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:18:23 When we get frustrated with near post corners, when executed correctly, you get the flick -on and change the angle, have someone on the end, that's what can happen. Rob Halligan 35 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:20:44 I thought that could have been a foul by Dier. He seemed to be climbing on Mason Mount to win the header. Ray Roche 36 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:23:07 Agreed, Rob. All over him. Bill Gall 37 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:30:53 Funny thing with fouls they are allowed in 1 area of the pitch and the same foul is disallowed in other parts of the pitch. Danny O’Neill 38 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:30:57 Early days, but I think Potter could be in trouble here. A bit of a Moyes? What could he do at a big club with money? Bill Gall 39 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:33:26 Good thing for Potter that Abramovich is not still owner of Chelsea… Rob Halligan 40 Posted 26/02/2023 at 15:35:35 Danny, Potter's tightrope must surely be very loose by now. Chelsea have spent an absolute fortune in the past two transfer windows, and they have no chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League, unless they win it this season of course. Can't see that happening though. They probably won't even qualify for Europe, full stop! Rob Halligan 41 Posted 26/02/2023 at 16:05:07 Anthony #30,There can't be many fans who want the geordie bellends to win. Obviously the RS and probably Man City, but other than that, probably no one. John Pickles 42 Posted 26/02/2023 at 16:26:52 I do, I'd support an Al Qaeda XI against Man Utd. Ray Roche 43 Posted 26/02/2023 at 16:27:37 Rob, Chelsea may have spent a fortune but who spent it? Was it Potter or a DOF? And was it because they know that a change to FFP soon might affect them so they are buying up talent now? Maybe Potter has just been presented with these players whether he wants them or not. He's done well elsewhere so I don't think it's all down to him. Phil Gardner 44 Posted 26/02/2023 at 17:19:23 A source of amusement that big-time Gordon hasn't even made the bench today… aawwww. 😉 Mark Murphy 45 Posted 26/02/2023 at 17:20:46 Isn't he cup-tied, Phil? Larry O'Hara 46 Posted 26/02/2023 at 17:20:59 Phil (282) — maybe he is cup-tied? Peter Mills 47 Posted 26/02/2023 at 17:23:27 Phil #282, he played for us at Bournemouth. Jim Bennings 48 Posted 26/02/2023 at 18:37:03 I can't see hapless Chelsea doing us many favours against Leeds next Saturday, to be honest, they look god awful. Matthew Williams 49 Posted 26/02/2023 at 18:59:34 So Man Utd lift another League Cup, when's our turn, like? ... that's my question to our shower of shite boardroom.Useless fucking cowards the lot of them! Dave Abrahams 50 Posted 26/02/2023 at 18:59:43 John (42), I've always liked Man Utd going way back to the 1940s but now, in the present era, I've got to say they've got two or three players who are very easy to dislike, so I didn't care who won today. John Pickles 51 Posted 26/02/2023 at 20:10:45 Dave, I've hated them since the '80s. Every time I wanted to read about our brilliant team's news and match reports, I had to find it hidden away under the media darlings latest nonevents. I'm also sick of their glory-seeking fans, if I had a pound for every time I've heard the phrase "I don't really follow football, but I do like Man Utd!" Dave Abrahams 52 Posted 26/02/2023 at 20:25:55 John (47), Yes fair enough although at the time we won two titles in the 80's I think we had won more titles than them.Everton have always been my no1 team and when I first started watching the Blues it was fifteen years before we won a title and in 1948 I remember listening to the second half commentary of the FA cup final with United coming from 2-1 down to win 4-2, and under Matt Busby they were always a good football team to watch, mind you football, in those days, was a lot better to watch than now in the sense it was a more level field to play in and the motto was “ May the best team win†now they'd sell ( most supporters) their grandmother to get a penalty, I'll stop this rambling here John, that's if you're still reading!! John Pickles 53 Posted 26/02/2023 at 21:25:59 I am, Dave, I think you are referring to a time when sport was a sport, not a business. Dave Abrahams 54 Posted 27/02/2023 at 12:46:08 John (53), Yes spot on, now it's mostly a dirty business!! Barry Hesketh 55 Posted 28/02/2023 at 19:19:08 Weird TV schedule in the UK for the fifth round of the FA Cup. BBC Red Button - Leicester City v Blackburn 19:30ITV1 - Bristol City v Man City 20:00ITV4 - Stoke v Brighton 19:15BBC1 - Fulham v Leeds 19:45Which one to watch? Similar scheduling tomorrow night, although we'll be concentrating elsewhere I fancy. Neil Tyrrell 56 Posted 28/02/2023 at 20:58:49 First half of Fulham v Leeds was great, cracking goal from Fulham and Leeds had 2 chalked off! Rob Halligan 57 Posted 28/02/2023 at 21:13:02 Seems Toney's season is over, and possibly the start of next season…….https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64805502 Soren Moyer 58 Posted 28/02/2023 at 21:21:24 Is Fulham's Solomon rich man's Gray lol. He scores same type of goals regularly! Bill Gall 59 Posted 01/03/2023 at 13:53:52 Read that Rob, amazed that with our luck we didn't buy him and have him suspended.for they reckon 6 months. Pity they did not give T.Kay the same punishment Brian Harrison 60 Posted 01/03/2023 at 14:45:00 Rob 57I think Brentford have been clever or cynical, they played Toney knowing he was going to plead guilty, but wanted to make sure they had enough points before the ban to retain their Premier league status. Its being reported that he will only get a 6 month ban and the summer months will be included as part of the ban, they reckon it will be April before the judgement is made. So if he is banned for the 6months that would make him eligible to play again in October. How you can only get banned for 6 months having admitted to the 265 cases of illegal betting I don't know. To think that we voluntarily left Sigurdsson out of the team for a whole season without him ever being charged of an offence.
