Everton's final pre-season friendly of the summer against Dynamo Kyiv will be the first ‘Match for Peace' played in the UK by the Ukrainian club.

The charity fundraiser at Goodison Park which kicks off at 7:45 pm next Friday evening, 29 July, will directly support humanitarian efforts in the war-torn country following the Russian invasion earlier this year.

Kyiv have previously participated in games in Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Belgium since the start of the war, as part of their ‘Match For Peace' initiative.

However, this will be the first such occasion on British soil, reflecting Everton's unwavering support and commitment to the people of Ukraine during the ongoing conflict.

Richard Kenyon, the Blues' Director of Communications, Revenue and International Growth, said: “This hugely important Match for Peace will raise vital funds for the humanitarian effort in Ukraine.

“The Club stands with all Ukrainians and I'm sure all Evertonians will show their support at Goodison.”

Tickets are now on general sale, priced at £15 for adults (18- to 64-year-olds) and £5 for concessions (under-18s and over-65s).

Supporters have the option to add a donation of £1, £5 or £10 at the point of purchase, with the money raised bolstering the total raised for charity through ticket sales and other matchday activities.

Please note, there will be no hospitality available for this game and Hospitality Members will need to purchase tickets through the general admission avenues.

Everton have previously supported the people of Ukraine by wearing the logo of the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal on shirt sleeves for the final 10 games of the 2021-22 season.

The Club also contributed £250,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal in March - a total matched by Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and Chairman Bill Kenwright.

Always the bloody nice guys Everton, why don't we just disband the football team and go all out for, oh I don't know, green peace, climate change, help the polar bears. After all, we are now just a charity case aren't we.

Well done blues.

Paul, more like a basket case. Joking aside, this is a good move by the club.

I hope the guy has sharpened his bolt cutters, in case the Just Stop Oil guy makes another appearance, wearing a Stop The War tee-shirt.

Joking apart, if this was done by a certain club, the media and tv would have been all over it for days, running specials on it.

Good on Everton for arranging this, looking forward to attending the game and hopefully seeing some of the regulars for a quick meet up, the Lavender Hill mob are back, Royal Oak pre-match drink guys?
