Everton U21s in excellent win at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur U21s 0 - 2 Everton U21s

Everton U21s secured another impressive win at Stevenage against Tottenham Hotspur U21 in their second game of the season in PL2.

Paul Tait had the team organised well and working exceptionally hard to maintain some very high standards that built on the excellent start to this campaign, which saw them run out as 2-0 winners over Blackburn Rovers last week.

The game was streamed live as there were no Premier League clashes on Friday. Mills and Welch were two names not involved tonight, suggesting they may be on the bench for the first-team at Aston Villa tomorrow.

Everton went ahead after just 3 minutes when Muir put the ball into his own net. The young Blues went further ahead when McAllister was fouled in the area and Tom Cannon finished off the penalty with aplomb.

Spurs came out of the blocks in the second half but the Everton defence held firm for the Blues to go top of the embryonic PL2 table with a 100% record, and no goals conceded.

Everton U21s: Leban, John, Hunt, Campbell, Anderson, Butterfield, Price, Warrington (89' Kouyate), Cannon, Whitaker (78' Quirk), McAllister (86' Okoronkwo).
Subs not Used: Barrett, Mallon.

Dave, my link is working fine, mate.

We're 2-0 up at half-time. A fine run into the box and cross from Whitaker was hit back across the goal (by John?), struck a Spurs player and into the net for an own-goal.

Then McAlister drove into the box, the same Spurs player as the og brought him down, Cannon dispatched the penalty.

The whole team is playing pretty well, aggressive, working hard, pressing the Spurs players. Individually we are not outstanding, Cannon is having a fine game, but as a team we are looking very good.

Phill Thompson (4), thanks, I know the score but can't get the game on, going round in circles giving my details over and over but getting nowhere.

Wow! Spurs keeper under pressure does a drag-back and clears!

Has anyone else had the same palaver to try and watch us against Spurs?

I've put details and season ticket number in about 54 times. I get "Watch live match" then it says Logout!!

Probably me...

Jim, I always log in early, then come back to it later, I don’t usually have to log in again. Finding the match in the members area is still harder than it should be though.

Jim (8),

I think it's you and me both, I've given up after offering all my details umpteen times and getting nowhere.

At least we're winning or we were last time I looked on another thread!!

Dave & Jim.

Do you not have a “Digital Membership” account?

All I have to do is put in my email and password, then I'm into the site.

Bit disappointed it wasn't given more prominence on ToffeeWeb.

The U21s are off to a great start. Let's hope the whole club is on a new wave of optimism.

Great result, I was working so I didn't see the game, but I will catch up, later today.

All in with the club, coaching changes etc, at this team level, it boads, well.

Phill (12) and Brent (13),

I put my Email and password in umpteen times but just got a large photo of God knows who with the request to put my Email and password in.

I finally changed my password to Fuckit 123!!

Dave,

that I think was Paul Tait's photo – if you clicked it, it gave a link to the match.

It looks like we use the same password... 😀

Phill (18), I did everything, clicked that photo and all the other things, to be honest I clicked on earlier in the day and that same photo came up with the same problems,

You’ve solved the problem now though, us using the same password. They must have thought I was already watching the game!!

Great result, and important that we try to establish a winning mentality throughout the club.

Early days David, but a year’s experience of already playing at this level, should mean that Everton will have a much better season at under 21 level, especially if some of the kids turn out to be as good as we think they might be🤞
