Patterson withdrawn from Scotland squad

Nathan Patterson has been withdrawn from the Scotland squad for their upcoming friendly against Turkey at Everton's request.

The decision was taken to keep the young fullback with the rest of the Blues' squad as Frank Lampard attempts to use the six-week hiatus from the Premier League while the World Cup is on to work with those players not going to Qatar.

Despite the current pause from domestic competition being because of the World Cup, it hasn't been declared an official international break, meaning clubs are under no obligation to release their players for friendly matches.
