Everton U18s 5 - 1 Derby County U18s

Everton U18s take on Derby County at Finch Farm today in the Under-18 Premier League: kick-off is at 12 noon.

The young Blues stormed into a 2-goal lead before 20 minutes into this one, through an own goal and then a strike by Martin Sherif.

Leighton Baines swapped out goalkeeper Sebastian Jensen for substitute Dylan Graham at half-time. Jacob Beaumont-Clark and Coby Ebere chipped in with two more goals after the hour-mark, the fourth being a penalty conversion.

And very late on, substitute Troy Smikle-James scored his first goal for the U18s to make it an impressive 5-1 win.

I like young Sherif he looks a good strong lad with more time to grow. I hope he is part of a good strong run in the FA Youth Cup this season and Leighton Baines proves himself to be a good coach.

Still 2-0 to the U18s at half-time, Ebere hit the bar, he's another who looks like he'll prosper in this squad.

Beaumont-Clark makes it 3-0 after 65 minutes, surprising how many upper-class lads are coming into football!!
