It looks like it could have gone either way and had that been against us, maybe we'd have felt aggrieved. Ste Traverse 3 Posted 10/03/2023 at 14:21:38 Certainly a pointless signing was Simon Davies.We acquired him just after we finished 4th in 2005, paid £4.5M for him, which was a lot for this club at the time, more than we paid for Cahill and Arteta combined, and he did absolutely nothing.Why did we sign a Spurs cast-off when we were trying to get into the Champions League? What the hell did Moyes see in him?I can recall his chief apologist, Barry Horne, arguing with Blues on post-match phone-ins after his endless anonymous performances for us.Awful player and pointless signing.
