Season ends with a late draw for Everton U18s with Manchester Utd
Everton U18s 2 - 2 Manchester Utd U18s
The 2022-23 season ended with a late draw for Everton U18s in their final game of the U18 Premier League against Manchester Utd today at Finch Farm, with Cody Ebere getting a 96th-minute equaliser.
Everton U18s have had a mixed first season under Leighton Baines, typified by the 1-1 draw against today's opponents that was played just last Wednesday at Carrington, and are set to finish 4th, a place behind Man Utd.
But they fell behind after just 7 minutes, with Butler going off after 13 minutes. And the Blues fell further behind with another goal for the visitors before the break.
Cody Ebere scored soon after the restart and that's how it seemed the match was going to end until the very last minute of added time, when Ebere got his and Everton's second to tie the game and earn a point.
Everton U18s: Jensen, Maher, Butler (13' Van Schoor), O Samuels-Smith, Moonan, Jones (46' Armstrong), Beaumont-Clark, Bates [Y:62'] (83' Foster), Sheriif, Apter [Y:37'] (70' Morgan), Ebere.

Sherif hit the post, Jensen made a great double save to keep Everton in the game.

Leighton Baines's side showed great resolve to respond from 2-0 down at half-time as Ebere levelled 3 minutes after the restart before the forward capped the comeback with a 94th-minute equaliser.
The result sealed a fine end to the campaign for the Under-18s as they finished 4th in Premier League (North).

Sherif and Ebere have done very well this season, a great comeback to finish the campaign off. In particular, Sherif, who came close again today, he's got to be one of the brightest prospects around at his age. Their respective stats for this U18s season:
14 goals and 5 assists in 21 games for still 16-year-old Sherif
8 goals in 19 games for Ebere.
Think we will see more of them in the u21s on and off next season, exciting to see if they can push on.
