Everton Under-19s secured a 2-1 win over Reliance Foundation Young Champs in Mumbai on Tuesday to qualify for the next round of the Next Generation Cup in India.

The impressive Coby Ebere opened the scoring after the break when he converted a good cutback from Matthew Apter.

Halid Djankpata made it 2-0 a little later with Apter again the provider. Apter drove through the Young Champs’ midfield with ease before finding Djankpata in space on the left-hand side. The Everton Number 10 cut inside and picked out the bottom left-hand corner precisely.

The Young Champs piled on the pressure and pulled one back at the death but it wasn't enough to prevent the Young Blues from progressing to a showdown against West Ham Utd U19s on Thursday.
