Everton were fined £50,000 for their part in the on-field brawl caused by Curtis Jones at the end of the last Goodison derby.

The official charge was for "failing to control their players" after the Liverpool player launched an unprecedented attack on Abdoulaye Doucoure for what he presumably thought was an unreasonable display of hubris in celebration of James Tarkowski's 98th-minute stunner that had denied the Reds 2 points.

Liverpool were fined £65,000 while their manager, Arne Slot. was given a 2-match ban and also fined £70,000 by an independent Football Association commission after accepting the charge.

Liverpool assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff was also banned for two games and fined £7,000.

Slot was seen exchanging words with one of the assistant referees before shaking hands with referee Michael Oliver, who seemed to react immediately to something he had said and showed him a red card. Hulshoff was also sent off.

Slot, who was unable to speak to the media after the match because of his red card, later voiced his frustration over the amount of stoppage time played, after 5 minutes were initially signalled.

How the hell can a Liverpool player grab hold of Doucoure, have a bottle thrown at him, yet Everton receive a bigger fine???

Brian,

We got a £50k fine while the RS got a £65k fine. Both fines for failing to control players. Plant pot got an immediate 2 match touchline ban, starting tonight, while his Grass was also banned for 2 games touchline ban and fined £7K

I think it’s normal that the home team get the larger fine. It’s not conspiracy, just the way it is.

I hope we kick off at the end of the Anfield derby! Gobshites the lot of them.

Why have we been fined more than the RS?

Cuntis Jones started the melee with his grab of Duke, for so called taunting of the RS fans, Something their players would never think of doing!!

It will kick off at the end of the Anfield derby if we win.

Hopefully EFC will use one of three biggest lies, and just say - no worries the cheque is in the post

Michael,
I read the same report as Brian I guess because that said Everton had the bigger fine but if they got the bigger fine I am happy but believe 50k was outrageous for celebrating scoring a goal while a vicious attack from the back has been dealt with by a fine. should have been a ban.

it is some comfort to know that that thug has been taken off our streets for two games at least. Trying the old 'shake hands' with a referee of Mr Oliver's standing? he should have been sacked on the spot.

Its all a bit pathetic, a brawl! That was never a brawl.
Go watch a Wigan v St Helens game, then you would see a brawl.

The reds cant stand not getting all their own way, that was the problem.

Make sure you never get mugged near Anfield. You’d end up in prison and facing a few years in clink.
