Quick question: I know that supporters often mimic their own version of others' songs and chants, but why do the likes of Arsenal and Villa, two clubs I respect, follow the Kopites with that Allez song?

Just don't stoop to that, Evertonians. Everton the gear. The originals.
The pulling and pushing interpretation of the rule is frustrating me more than offside lately. I watched Match of the Day this morning. If it's in the box, no penalty. Outside, sometimes it's given but not always, even when it's obvious.

Luckily for them they have an unassailable lead at the top of the league because they do look like they are running on empty.
25 Posted 16/03/2025 at 17:24:33
Listening to the ITV commentators, I don't know what's worse. Their adoration of Liverpool or the gushing over Newcastle.

I'm off out to watch the evening match and greet the kopites making their way back into Uxbridge.
I must admit though, the ITV commentator had me cringing with his near orgasm like comments and cliches about the deserved winners.
On 2nd of April we don't need to fear this lot. Take the game to them, don't sink into ourselves. Believe blues.

Plus he took the on-set razzing about Tarks' goal with great good humor. One of the camera crew is a Blue and he rubbed Carragher's head when the goal went in, and instead of getting pissy he busted up laughing and hugged the guy. I'm OK with him.

You might well have three decent mates who are Newcastle fans, and I don't know if you've ever been up there for a match involving us, but all they want to do is cause trouble.
Even when they win they are waiting outside the exits from the away end, trying to have a go. You walk down towards the away coaches and they are there, even throwing bottles.
Trust me mate, it's not a nice experience going up there, and if it weren't for the RS, they would be number one on my hate list!
110 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:54:14
111 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:56:40
Was anyone at St James Park for that Easter game in the '70s when we were down the side and they invaded from both sides. I hate the twats.
But Joe is right, there will always be decent ones but they are the ones you meet at work or socially.
112 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:56:51
Not 1980s Bet Lynch lookalikes who didn't play but put themselves right at the centre of the celebrations.

Not even just their fans the people in general. There was a crowd of Geordies when I was at Manchester University and every Saturday night meant empty bottles of Newcie Brown being thrown to start fights with “Mancs” “Scallies” “Southern Softies” “Sheep Shaggers” or any other cluster of people they thought they could tie with some other part of Britain.
118 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:59:31
I'd rather the Barcodes win it than those entitled, RS twats across the park. Why didn't Sky focus on the “rs legends” ugly gobs ie Rush, Dogleish, Carra etc.. at the end?
Pathetic, biased commentary throughout. Plus the ref adding on as much time as possible. This game is so corrupt, it's sickening.
I just hope Bournemouth or Brighton win the FA Cup now. Time to break up he Sly Six monopoly. Well done, Newcastle.
119 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:59:41
Liverpool were bewitched, bothered, battered, bewildered and Joelintonised by a far superior team in every department of the game who won it fair and square but deserved to have won 4 or 5 nil.

121 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:00:45
Today, they beat the team all Everton fans despise so happy days and for me – also happy days that arsehole red shite fan Gordon played no part in the final.
The Barcodes got their money in 2021, we got ours five years earlier in 2016 and they have delivered a trophy and are well in front of us squad wise. They have been in two finals and in the champions league in four years – that is progress.
How long will we Evertonians have to wait for a trophy !
122 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:01:30
I'm with Rob on this, Joe. I have a few Newcastle friends and they are okay. But as collective, they are almost as entitled and deluded as the RS, declaring themselves as big as Manchester United, which they are not. They are not as big as Everton.
Travelling up there is not a great experience. I've had better ones at Chelsea and West Ham.
123 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:01:33
And with Paul@107.
Carragher's an out and out gobshite. He set up Calvert-Lewin after bumping into him in town shopping and I think that incident where the support guy rubbed his head, he was seething and put on an act. He's a cunt!

I think what PH meant is that we will have to put up with skunks crowing about today for years on end. Not that hard to understand. There is very little to understand about PH. Calls a skunk a skunk. Sort of fella whose number one meal is egg and chips. Which it is.
You coming to Chicago, Mark, end of July?
149 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:40:34
No. Just no.
As well being a fantastic experience that supporters will never forget, it can be a platform for further success.
Remember 1984. I do. Vividly like it was yesterday. Stood behind the goal watching us lift a trophy for the first time in my then young life. Memories like that never leave you.
150 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:44:46
We did what they did last night, Danny. Everton took over Covent Garden. We were in the Punch and Judy for ages and then the Sussex on Shaftesbury Avenue and then The Cambridge in Cambridge Circus on Charring Cross Road.
What a night! What a day! Not as good as Rotterdam though.

I'm trying to be kind to Paul, and have now got a picture of Trigger in my head after that hilarious or totally bemusing statement.
160 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:20:05
Nearly as hilarious as West Ham fans thinking winning the third-rate tin pot UEFA Conference League a couple of years back makes them “Champions of Europe”. Probably a tongue in cheek chant though.
161 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:20:41
I can't do Chicago, no - ojala!
Will be driving through Saxony to Bavaria with some stops in Alsace on the way to visit the wife's rellies.
Never been to The States yet – it's on my bucket list.

That phone call will last a lifetime Mark, I dont think Ive ever had such luck before when Ive been on the phone talking to a fellow Evertonian, so expect another call now when those bastards are playing in a big game because I always believe that lightning can strike more than once👍😂💙

Woke up with a monster hangover. Won the cup and did every pub around Wardour Street and Shaftesbury Avenue and got the last train back to Portsmouth.
I hope they all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed those two nights.
166 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:34:47
2-0 Man-U. Leicester down with Saints and Ipswich. But, the title is not over now! Thanks RH and MM for educating me o 'You're shit'.
"Champions of Europe', Rob. I pissed myself hearing that still being sung yesterday or perhaps they mean the Euro up Winnners Cup in 1965!
167 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:36:19
Wardour Street has just made me think of my favourite Jam album when I was growing up, Paul T, so I'm going to find the energy to start listening to some happy music now.
168 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:37:19
Leicester now the quickest team to concede 1000 goals in the Premier League.

Tarkowski, O'Brien and Branthwaite must be smacking their lips, the way the shite defend set pieces.
Moyes needs to use the next week or so practicing on the set pieces, get that fraud Charlie Adams away, done Jack shit since he came in.
Going forward to the second test event next Sunday, I wonder if Chermiti and Broja will be included in the squad, to get some minutes under their belts, before the derby?
171 Posted 16/03/2025 at 20:43:52

Down in the tube station at midnight was always my favourite but, the ‘tranquility of ‘solitude, definitely grew on me in my later years, and I'd take Paul Weller over those Mancunian brothers, every single day of the week!
Funny but I've just put That's entertainment on my iPad and it's come up with Noel Gallagher on stage with the great Weller!
178 Posted 16/03/2025 at 21:07:08
If we couldn't call it already, I think we can now with that Leicester result.

'Waking up at six AM on a cool warm morning / Opening the windows and breathing in petrol / An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard / Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays'
and
A police car and a screaming siren / A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete / A baby wailing and stray dog howling / The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking

Yes, please feel free to call me during any future shite games. 1 VAR decision followed instantly by a goal against them - it was like having a direct line to the commentary box!
I had me bath and went downstairs and stupidly switched channels (to my wifes annoyance as she was watching The Greatest Showman) to see if the game had ended, only to see the VAR confirm the shites goal.
Luckily my wife won the day and I turned over again before they could equalise!
Get better soon and hopefully Ill meet up with you in the Harlech soon.
Regards to your dad!

Im not so sure theyre that intelligent.
I asked him if they were singing the sign on song ironically as well?
When we played them at their ground last season I was unfortunate enough to be right near their section. They were mainly young lads dressed like peaky blinders and spent the whole of the first half just baiting us. Until Calvert Lewin scored and then they shut the Fcuk up.
They are grade 1 morons.

I went onto New Order singing Love will tear us apart at Glastonbury (a place I bemusedly have still to attend) and Im going to finish on one of my favourite Irish female singers, Delores ORiordan singing that incredibly powerful song about Zombies.
I agree with Danny, and it totally bemuses me when I read people on ToffeeWeb, wanting Everton to rest players in cup ties, when we can never win the league.
Fuckn Zombies, if we cant compete we shouldnt be in the fuckn league, isnt it about time we got our defiance back!
Good night everyone, its great watching Liverpool lose (except for you Mark, take those fuckn batteries out of yer remote!) but isnt it about time we demanded a better Everton💙💙💙

We can stuff them good and proper if we are up for it, Moyes has to forget his natural instincts and tell the team to go out and batter them, not let up for 90 mins (or 98) I would SO love it for us to put the skids under their title run.. a final dig from Goodison..

My mate and I stopped at a pub just outside of town for a meal at 5.00pm. The landlord was made up we had travelled for the game, introduced us to his mates, then wouldnt take any money from us for our drinks and eats.
Different days.

My old Chemistry tutor who was Sunderland said the reason Scandinavia is peaceful today is the Vikings sent their lowest IQ and most violent people to conquer the Newcastle area and they never came back. Nonetheless still better than the RS.

It was a tough watch kinda like when Hizbollah started fighting Al Qaeda in Syria. Can they both lose somehow?

Must be painful.

Fast forward a few decades, and I made the trek up those 190 plus steps. I wish I'd taken binoculars. We may have posts but that away section is up in the heavens.
I got talking to a few Kopites earlier, watching the United v Leicester match. They were licking their wounds, but pretty honest. They gave credit to Newcastle and were critical of their own team.
I took a bit of banter when they discovered I was an Evertonian. I pointed to my jacket, which bears the discreet new Prince Rupert's Tower logo, but it was lost on them.
Apparently, we're going to get "twated" at Anfield. I left them to it. They all shook my hand and one even gave me a man hug.
Bless them.

Now your talking
That is indeed one hell of a powerful song.
God rest, Dolores!

Now I can get back to having nothing to do with either of them...which is as it should be.

By the way, if you have not seen this Dobbo special it oozes class. I had forgotten that he was the first ever 300,000 quid player.

Not everyone's favourite manager, but then who has been of late?
To quote Roberto Martinez, go there with "Sin Miedo". Without fear translated to English.
I don't fear them. We shouldn't. Get under their skin. Wind them up and take the fight to them. We already have after the last outing at Goodison.

Slot is like Martinez after Moyes, the wheels are coming off, but unfortunately, they'll win the league. Citteh are off the inhalers this year too.
Who do you think, out of the three (from the RS), will stay for next season?
Not our concern, but still

Tube Station and That's Entertainment are great, Strange Town is still my favourite Jam song though. Going Underground is also brilliant.
