Diplomatic incident, complete with mug shots and a "Free the Everton One" written all over that one if Rob completes the task!!

Quick question: I know that supporters often mimic their own version of others' songs and chants, but why do the likes of Arsenal and Villa, two clubs I respect, follow the Kopites with that Allez song?

Why have the RS morons started twirling their stupid scarves above their heads? Does it mean something?
Liam Mogan
7 Posted 16/03/2025 at 16:45:16
RS started their deliberatel tactic of pulling and pushing opposition players. Getting away with it mostly as usual.

Danny O'Neill
11 Posted 16/03/2025 at 16:50:52
Liam, they and others have been doing it more recently.

Just don't stoop to that, Evertonians. Everton the gear. The originals.

The pulling and pushing interpretation of the rule is frustrating me more than offside lately. I watched Match of the Day this morning. If it's in the box, no penalty. Outside, sometimes it's given but not always, even when it's obvious.

Newcastle want this more. Liverpool look much like they did this time last season, knackered and almost as though their race is run.

Luckily for them they have an unassailable lead at the top of the league because they do look like they are running on empty.

Danny O'Neill
25 Posted 16/03/2025 at 17:24:33
FA Cup and league, but I remember January 1988 when we seemed to play Sheffield Wednesday every week Paul, including a very early start on the Amberline coach from Speke on New Year's Day to cross the Snake Pass.

Listening to the ITV commentators, I don't know what's worse. Their adoration of Liverpool or the gushing over Newcastle.

Liam, I'm cool with Carragher. On the CBS Champions League postgame show with Micah and Thierry and my love goddess Kate, a few weeks ago Kate asked a random question about the greatest keeper ever, and Carragher jumped in instantly "Neville Southall" and was so assertive about it that nobody even disputed him.

Plus he took the on-set razzing about Tarks' goal with great good humor. One of the camera crew is a Blue and he rubbed Carragher's head when the goal went in, and instead of getting pissy he busted up laughing and hugged the guy. I'm OK with him.

Joe # 89… because they are fucking horrible fans.

You might well have three decent mates who are Newcastle fans, and I don't know if you've ever been up there for a match involving us, but all they want to do is cause trouble.

Even when they win they are waiting outside the exits from the away end, trying to have a go. You walk down towards the away coaches and they are there, even throwing bottles.

Trust me mate, it's not a nice experience going up there, and if it weren't for the RS, they would be number one on my hate list!

Paul Ferry

Ahead of Spuds Rob? And you didn't even mention the stairs.

Was anyone at St James Park for that Easter game in the '70s when we were down the side and they invaded from both sides. I hate the twats.

But Joe is right, there will always be decent ones but they are the ones you meet at work or socially.

Liam Mogan

Not even just their fans the people in general. There was a crowd of Geordie’s when I was at Manchester University and every Saturday night meant empty bottles of Newcie Brown being thrown to start fights with “Mancs” “Scallies” “Southern Softies” “Sheep Shaggers” or any other cluster of people they thought they could tie with some other part of Britain.

Colin Glassar
118 Posted 16/03/2025 at 18:59:31
Unlike most, apparently, on here, I don't share this visceral hatred shown towards the Geordies. They are honest, decent, northern folk.

I'd rather the Barcodes win it than those entitled, RS twats across the park. Why didn't Sky focus on the “rs legends” ugly gobs ie Rush, Dogleish, Carra etc.. at the end?

Pathetic, biased commentary throughout. Plus the ref adding on as much time as possible. This game is so corrupt, it's sickening.

I just hope Bournemouth or Brighton win the FA Cup now. Time to break up he Sly Six monopoly. Well done, Newcastle.

If ever a score never reflected how the game was won it was this one.

Liverpool were bewitched, bothered, battered, bewildered and Joelintonised by a far superior team in every department of the game who won it fair and square but deserved to have won 4 or 5 nil.

Any geordies I have met are down to earth decent people - fair play to them they were great today. I remember when they bought Burn – I was thinking "Well, what a waste of money this will be."

Today, they beat the team all Everton fans despise so happy days and for me – also happy days that arsehole red shite fan Gordon played no part in the final.

The Barcodes got their money in 2021, we got ours five years earlier in 2016 and they have delivered a trophy and are well in front of us squad wise. They have been in two finals and in the champions league in four years – that is progress.
How long will we Evertonians have to wait for a trophy !

Danny O'Neill
122 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:01:30
I think he will, Paul. Is it not down to being involved in the whole competition?

I'm with Rob on this, Joe. I have a few Newcastle friends and they are okay. But as collective, they are almost as entitled and deluded as the RS, declaring themselves as big as Manchester United, which they are not. They are not as big as Everton.

Travelling up there is not a great experience. I've had better ones at Chelsea and West Ham.

Brian Williams
123 Posted 16/03/2025 at 19:01:33
Gotta agree with Rob @208. They are horrible bastards. Grown men in their thirties and forties knocking fuck out of teenage Evertonians. Thing is we don't live among em, so them before the rs for the win today.

And with Paul@107.

Carragher's an out and out gobshite. He set up Calvert-Lewin after bumping into him in town shopping and I think that incident where the support guy rubbed his head, he was seething and put on an act. He's a cunt!

Carragher was a blue and tells the story that, when he rejoiced at yet another Everton victory on the Liverpool team coach, he was firmly told to shut up.

I think what PH meant is that we will have to put up with skunks crowing about today for years on end. Not that hard to understand. There is very little to understand about PH. Calls a skunk a skunk. Sort of fella whose number one meal is egg and chips. Which it is.

Anyone watching the joy of what that meant today for the Newcastle supporters, it despairs me when I read or hear people saying they are not interested in the cups.

No. Just no.

As well being a fantastic experience that supporters will never forget, it can be a platform for further success.

Remember 1984. I do. Vividly like it was yesterday. Stood behind the goal watching us lift a trophy for the first time in my then young life. Memories like that never leave you.

Me, too, Danny. It was wondrous. I just remember 'ee-I-adio we won the cup'. Bronski Beat 'Small Town Boy' and Van Halen 'Jump' dominating the airwaves.

We did what they did last night, Danny. Everton took over Covent Garden. We were in the Punch and Judy for ages and then the Sussex on Shaftesbury Avenue and then The Cambridge in Cambridge Circus on Charring Cross Road.

What a night! What a day! Not as good as Rotterdam though.

Weller and Noel singing TE is quite something. Weller way ahead of the Gallaghers. My favourite line Tony - ‘tranquility of ‘solitude' and

'Waking up at six AM on a cool warm morning / Opening the windows and breathing in petrol / An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard / Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays'

and

A police car and a screaming siren / A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete / A baby wailing and stray dog howling / The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking

Paul, my West Ham mate claims they sing that “champions of Europe” song ironically…
I’m not so sure they’re that intelligent.
I asked him if they were singing the sign on song ironically as well?
When we played them at their ground last season I was unfortunate enough to be right near their section. They were mainly young lads dressed like peaky blinders and spent the whole of the first half just baiting us. Until Calvert Lewin scored and then they shut the Fcuk up.
They are grade 1 morons.

Getting a cab is much preferred to getting on buses Paul, whilst reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs!

I went onto New Order singing Love will tear us apart at Glastonbury (a place I bemusedly have still to attend) and I’m going to finish on one of my favourite Irish female singers, Delores O’Riordan singing that incredibly powerful song about Zombies.

I agree with Danny, and it totally bemuses me when I read people on ToffeeWeb, wanting Everton to rest players in cup ties, when we can never win the league.

Fuckn Zombies, if we can’t compete we shouldn’t be in the fuckn league, isn’t it about time we got our defiance back!

I confess I woke up this morning not having got up at 5.30am to wath, But I smiled when I heard the result. My least favourite teams, I have bad memories of doing a post grad in Newcastle, for a whole variety of reasons but mainly the animosity shown to me and my family when we lived in Wylam for nothing other than being from Liverpool. But I support Everton and any team playing the RS, so I smiled and I so wish we were playing them next week..
We can stuff them good and proper if we are up for it, Moyes has to forget his natural instincts and tell the team to go out and batter them, not let up for 90 mins (or 98) I would SO love it for us to put the skids under their title run.. a final dig from Goodison..

I’ve only been to Newcastle for a match once, it must be at least 30 years ago, for an early season night match, which we lost. The Everton end was an open terrace.

My mate and I stopped at a pub just outside of town for a meal at 5.00pm. The landlord was made up we had travelled for the game, introduced us to his mates, then wouldn’t take any money from us for our drinks and eats.

I went to St James' for the first time way back in the 80s. Call it a stadium? Apart from that Main Stand that still exists amongst the rebuilding, it was open, crumbling terracing all around, even the famous Gallowgate End. We were tucked in a corner next to a temporary scaffolding like stand, the likes of which you see at golf tournaments. We spent most of the match having abuse and objects hurled at us.

Fast forward a few decades, and I made the trek up those 190 plus steps. I wish I'd taken binoculars. We may have posts but that away section is up in the heavens.

I got talking to a few Kopites earlier, watching the United v Leicester match. They were licking their wounds, but pretty honest. They gave credit to Newcastle and were critical of their own team.

I took a bit of banter when they discovered I was an Evertonian. I pointed to my jacket, which bears the discreet new Prince Rupert's Tower logo, but it was lost on them.

Apparently, we're going to get "twated" at Anfield. I left them to it. They all shook my hand and one even gave me a man hug.

Bless them.

There are still twats who claim that Dolores took her own life. A massive shiver goes up and down my spine with the first chords of Linger knowing that serene chorus and voice is coming up.

Just after we hired Allardyce the West Ham fans were singing "you've got Sam Allardyce" in that taunting nah-nah-nah-nah-nah kind of way, at Goodison. After we went up 3-0 they started singing "we need Sam Allardyce" in the same way. So they do have a sense of humour!

Tube Station and That's Entertainment are great, Strange Town is still my favourite Jam song though. Going Underground is also brilliant.
