Season › 2024-25 › General Forum Allez les Bleus By Steve Higgins 08/08/2024 2 Comments [Jump to last] I’ve enjoyed hearing "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" played at various events in the Paris Olympics. The song is a Goodison favourite and, obviously, the French like it because blue is their national colour, especially for sports teams. The Italian band ‘Eiffel 65’ (coincidence, given the location of the current Olympics) released the song in 1998. I really like "Ramenez la coupe à la Maison" ("Bring the Cup Home") by the French musician Vegedream. It was released in July 2018, after France won the World Cup. The singer goes through the team one by one. For example: Qui contrôle le terrain? (Matuidi)Blaise Matuidi, eh (Matuidi)Avec lui on est serein (Matuidi) Who controls the field? Blaise Matuidi, eh (Matuidi) With him we’re serene (Matuidi) It’s very catchy, especially: Ramenez la coupe à la maisonAllez les bleus, allez Bring the cup home, Come on the Blues, come on (For you students of the French language yes, I know it literally says “Go the blues”). Anyway, it’s a good listen if you can find it. Reader Comments (2) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission.
