Disclaimer () Trevor Powell 1 Posted 07/12/2024 at 14:45:42 The legend that was Sandro Ramirez has scored four goals from 12 games in La Liga this season with Las Palmas! Bring him back and sell Calvert-Lewin, I say! Michael Kenrick 2 Posted 07/12/2024 at 16:35:52 Good goal by Rico Lewis to get Man City back level again. Rob Halligan 3 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:09:03 Very harsh sending off for Lewis, I thought. He had his foot on the floor when he attempted the block, and Chalobah went down like hed been shot. That sending off should be overturned upon appeal. Jim Bennings 4 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:20:36 City's race is run this season now I think.Looking at Arsenal putting a sensation run together now, not ruling Chelsea out but don't think they'll win it. Jim Bennings 5 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:22:56 Imagine being a season ticket holder at Brentford this season, some entertainment down there eh. Brian Williams 6 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:31:55 You could always buy a half season ticket there Jim.👍 Brent Stephens 7 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:34:58 Forest 1 up at United! Jim Bennings 8 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:37:44 Might do that Brian haha Paul Ferry 9 Posted 07/12/2024 at 17:59:23 Some rain there at Old Trafford. Man Utd lucky there. Paul Ferry 11 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:36:08 2-1 Forest. That was one hell of a howler by Onana. Paul Ferry 13 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:42:59 birthday boy 3-1 Paul Hewitt 14 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:43:06 3-1 forest Michael Kenrick 15 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:43:13 And they've done it again! 1-3 Paul Hewitt 16 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:44:33 This is why Dyche needs to go. Forest having a go at a crap Man Utd and winning. Paul Ferry 17 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:44:46 Martinez's time to make a mistake, just watching. Is Ten Hag back? Nigel Scowen 18 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:46:20 United all over the place Paul Ferry 19 Posted 07/12/2024 at 18:47:50 Didn't Forest win over the park earlier in the season as well?Man-U have serious issues in central defence. They keep pressing backwards not forwards! Forest lads have so much space. Jim Bennings 20 Posted 07/12/2024 at 19:19:26 It does frustrate when you watch the other sides in the league show no respect or fear when traveling to venues like Old Trafford yet every time we rock up it's like a League 2 side going to a Premier League club in the FA Cup.I can't understand that attitude, we are Everton Football Club yet we fear playing away to sides that we shouldn't.30 years without a win at Chelsea, one win at Old Trafford since 1992, one win at Arsenal since 1996, one win at Anfield since 1999.It's not what this club should be about at all.United are bang average but we made them look like the dynasty team of the 90's. Danny O'Neill 21 Posted 08/12/2024 at 12:44:03 I know we shouldn't rely on other teams, but hopefully the south coast teams, Brighton and Bournemouth can do us a favour today. The Tottenham v Chelsea match will be interesting. For those who like a punt, Chelsea could be an outside bet for the league.Jim @20. hopefully I'll break my Emirates duck next Saturday. Tony Abrahams 22 Posted 08/12/2024 at 13:09:48 Don't start me, Jim B! We won at Anfield and The Emirates for the only time in our history when there wasn't any crowd inside the ground. This is probably why we got a penalty at our old stadium, considering we haven't had another during at least the last 50 seasons, if my memory is correct Paul Hewitt 23 Posted 08/12/2024 at 15:56:13 Get in, Bournemouth! Chris Leyland 24 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:06:58 Tony, didn't Rooney score from the spot in 2017 at Mordor in a 1-1? But you'd have to go back 80 years before then I think. Rob Halligan 25 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:43:18 Is Cucurella wearing slippers? Twice he's slipped over and twice Spurs have scored. Mark Murphy 26 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:43:39 I'm as gutted with our Man Utd result as anyone but we did have a go at them. The difference with us and Forest was that our heads went when Man Utd scored. The end result at Old Trafford was bad but, for 30 minutes, we bossed them. There are glimmers of what we can do when (if!) we gain confidence and a striker who gives a shit or is capable. Rob Halligan 27 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:46:24 I agree, Mark. It didn't help that we absolutely gifted them three goals, while the first took a wicked deflection which Pickford had covered, and would easily have saved. Rob Halligan 28 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:47:57 Chelsea pull one back. Great finish by Sancho. Jim Bennings 29 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:48:31 Mark,I believe if we had Chris Wood instead of a half baked Calvert-Lewin this season then we'd be 6 points better off.I keep hearing that we don't give him no service but even when he does get decent service he very rarely makes anything of it. Denis Richardson 30 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:49:34 Harsh on Ipswich…….but nice. Shame Leicester came back but at least only a point. Good results for us all round. No one below us winning and two losing. Mike Gaynes 31 Posted 08/12/2024 at 16:57:30 Rob #25, I've never been an admirer of Cucurella going back to his Barca days, but this was stupidity on a massive scale. How do you spend half an hour warming up on the pitch and still put on the wrong studs? And then keep telling your mates, hey, it's not my fault. Of course it is. Nigel Scowen 32 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:02:10 Denis @30,Yes, not bad results at all, Denis, still 5 points clear of the relegation places with a two-team cushion, no one really gained on us. Hoping for a West Ham win tomorrow. Rob Halligan 33 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:04:59 Well that should have been a red card for Caicedo. Completely missed the ball and caught Sarr on the shinbone. Mike Gaynes 34 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:05:10 Agreed, Rob. Danny O'Neill 35 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:06:08 Agree Rob. Someone will have to expin why that wasn't red. Mike Gaynes 36 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:07:42 Danny, because Sarr didn't roll around screaming. Nigel Scowen 37 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:10:22 Not sufficient force apparently!!!!! Denis Richardson 38 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:21:41 Neil 32 - was thinking about the West Ham game. Obviously a Wolves win not wanted but I think a draw is better as we can catch them. Think Wolves are going to part manager soon. A draw might seal both their fates and hopefully one of them appoints Moyes. As long as Wolves don't win I'll be happy. Danny O'Neill 39 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:22:26 What are the Totteham supporters doing throwing items onto the pitch? And why aren't the stewards doing something about it? Pete Hughes 40 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:25:03 Danny, That's been going on from the first whistle.Let's see just see if the Premier League take them to task? Liam Mogan 41 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:30:50 Both those challenges were red cards. The inconsistency in VAR is what drives fans mad! Nigel Scowen 42 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:31:04 Denis @38In two minds but I do like the 5-point gap, a draw could be okay, just not a Wolves win like you say. I think we'll catch the Hammers anyway at some point. Whoever loses, the manager is sacked imo.Wolves at home to Ipswich next weekend, now that's the draw. Paul Ferry 43 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:40:36 Good morning. Yawn. Some game this. Sorry I missed the first half. Martin Mason 44 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:45:25 Good to watch the Arsenal - Fulham and Spurs - Chelsea games. Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are much, much better than us and play a significantly different game with none of our hoof ball, nice close-quarter passing and getting the ball forward down into the corners with men in the box. We are maybe years away from playing that sort of game and we will never do it with our current coach. These sides are a glass ceiling for us and we should perhaps expect to lose to them home and away; drawing against bottom quartile sides may not be good enough. Robinson handled Saka very well apart from losing him on the disallowed goal. Mike Gaynes 45 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:49:45 Palmer could be the Le Tissier of this era. He's never missed a penalty. Paul Ferry 46 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:50:39 Nice penaly. Is the paper being chucked down by the Spurs knobheads significant/symbolic or is it just Spursy? Liam Mogan 47 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:51:33 Cole Palmer is ice cold.Spurs have some brilliant players and attacking play but brainless defensively. Liam Mogan 48 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:54:20 Martin 44, even Fulham play a different game to us. Paul Ferry 49 Posted 08/12/2024 at 17:54:38 Chelsea's average age is 22, 5 Live Denno just said. Feck me, that's called building. Rob Halligan 50 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:02:08 Oh dear…. that's a Spursy……..Ange will be under severe pressure if Spurs go on and lose this. Paul Ferry 51 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:02:35 Chelsea will win the title in one of the next 3 years. Look at Palmer there. Denis Richardson 52 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:05:12 Watching the Spurs - Chelsea game and the frightening thing is the ability of the players on the ball versus our own. Especially the Chelsea players, midfielders so comfortable on the ball, quick feet, either direction and with awareness of what's around them. Chalk and Cheese to ours — and I guess about £500M between them as well! Paul Ferry 53 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:05:47 That touch from Palmer for Neto… feck me! Liam Mogan 54 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:07:22 He's just brilliant that Palmer. A pleasure to watch him. Paul Ferry 55 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:09:19 Possibly a little on the uglier side of faces Liam which is a little consolation. Rob Halligan 56 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:09:22 Really dont understand why Man City sold him? They must be regretting it now. Rob Halligan 57 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:10:53 Pathetic challenge. Palmer's going nowhere. Second penalty. Rob Halligan 58 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:11:38 Fuck me……cheeky fucker!! Jeff Armstrong 59 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:12:14 Chelsea looking like the only team that could challenge the RS. Liam Mogan 60 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:12:34 Ah fuck off, Palmer 😂😂😂😂 Paul Ferry 61 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:12:36 Palmer genius! Paul Ferry 62 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:13:47 He's got the whole world in his hands."Yes, it was the right decision to sell him, we haven't suffered." (Pep) Jeff Armstrong 63 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:16:38 Palmers Ceasar hair cut does nothing for his only a face his mother could love persona🤭 Paul Ferry 64 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:19:37 Shocking hair Jeff; he looks like one of the lads of legs Liz and her faux Irish hubby with the big muzzy in Coronation St. Liam Mogan 67 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:22:23 Wish Calvert-Lewin was an ugly fucker tbf. Might finish a sitter. Paul Ferry 71 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:28:24 Ange looks like he just got dumped by his beloved Jeff Armstrong 72 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:29:38 Dirty Den done the dirty on Ange Liam Mogan 74 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:31:59 Preternatural Palmer Jack Convery 78 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:32:59 Palmer, so so good. Pep, what were you thinking? Palmer is Chelsea's own Golden Vision. If Tuchel has anything about him, he must build England around him. Paul Ferry 83 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:38:34 Spurs 11th Paul Ferry 84 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:39:17 The bottom 3 seem determined to break away. Charles Ward 85 Posted 08/12/2024 at 18:44:01 Be interesting to see how we cope with Chelseas attacking talent. Nigel Scowen 99 Posted 08/12/2024 at 19:38:52 Chelsea 4 points behind the shite with about the same goal difference, they are title challengers. Jim Bennings 100 Posted 08/12/2024 at 19:50:03 Yet again, another weekend that proves modern-day football is all about goals, goals, goals.Teams just aren't arsed about clean sheets anymore, maybe in the '90s or the early part of this century it was a huge thing to build a basis on but nowadays it's just "we'll score more than you". Tony Abrahams 103 Posted 08/12/2024 at 20:28:21 Thanks for the refresh Chris, although I can't believe I forgot about that one when I remember the way the moaning bastards went on for weeks after that decision. They got a penalty in the next Anfield derby, (same season FA Cup) and my own feelings were that it didn't quite make up for Everton getting one in the previous game, the way they still carried on. Tony Mace 116 Posted 09/12/2024 at 08:58:50 Too much time on our hands heading home after the game was cancelled.Anyway here goes. The fruits of our labour. To the tune of Edison Lighthouse - Rosemary GoesI'm a lucky fellaI just gotta tell yaI've seen him running through midfield Because skill flowsThrough Ilimans toesIliman Ndiaye Danny O'Neill 117 Posted 09/12/2024 at 09:09:05 I think it may have been Southampton, playing in a light blue away kit, but I had to look twice as they had a Jack Grealish lookalike!!Chelsea now only 4 points behind Liverpool, who still have to play us.Tonight's game, West Ham v Wolves, is a big one. West Ham only one point ahead of us, Wolves. second from bottom. Both managers under pressure. Nigel Scowen 118 Posted 09/12/2024 at 18:12:09 Whoever loses tonight loses their manager in my opinion. Danny O'Neill 119 Posted 09/12/2024 at 19:16:49 It will be interesting, Nigel.Unless either go for someone in the Championship, or pull some unheard-of from the continent, I can't think of many.Potter for West Ham maybe? Unless they go back to Moyes for a 3rd time.Wolves, I have no idea.Mind you, if we depart ways with Dyche, I'm unsure where we would go. Nigel Scowen 120 Posted 09/12/2024 at 19:21:06 I do actually think, Danny, TFG have someone lined up already just in case they decide to relieve Dyche of his duties… Sarri perhaps.Though I also believe, if Dyche picks up another 5 points in December, then he will be safe for the time being at least. Rob Halligan 121 Posted 09/12/2024 at 19:51:38 Danny, I think the Jack Grealish lookalike you're thinking of plays for Forest, but I can't think of his name. Nigel Scowen 122 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:06:48 Quite a few empty seats at the London Stadium tonight.I know a few West Ham fans, none of them like the atmosphere compared to Upton Park. Nigel Scowen 123 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:19:04 Two bad sides Phil Roberts 124 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:38:09 Could be Wolves replaced Loperegui with O'Neill win, and he is sacked by WHU.On the other hand, a win for WHU means he could sack the guy who replaced him, having left over a lack of funding for new players. Paul Ferry 125 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:45:50 Jota Silva Rob. Paul Ferry 126 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:50:27 Poor half from two poor teams but Wolves should be ahead. West Ham 2 points ahead of us but we have a game in hand that we will definitely win. Nigel Scowen 127 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:52:29 West Ham only 1 point ahead Paul Paul Ferry 128 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:59:02 As I say to my students NS, never correct me in public but you can send me an email by all means and I will consider whether you in fact have a case. Brendan McLaughlin 129 Posted 09/12/2024 at 20:59:49 Nigel #127I think Paul is talking "as it stands" if this game finishes all square.A draw the best result for Everton?Or given Paul #128...perhaps not Nigel Scowen 130 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:03:06 All I can do is apologise Paul 😂Brendan a West Ham win for me is best, Wolves have Ipswich at home on Saturday, they can have their draw then. Paul Ferry 131 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:14:42 That you Brendan for putting Nigel firmly in place. And there we go, an awful goal to give away by the worst defence in the league. I agree that a draw is best for us Brendan. Nigel Scowen 132 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:16:54 Damn went in the kitchen to fill up my wine and missed the goal.I like our 5 point gap over the bottom 3. Rob Halligan 133 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:18:33 It was an awful goal, Paul. About six or seven wolves players watched the ball sail over their heads towards Soucek, then watched the ball sail back over their heads and into the net. Not one of them attacked the ball before Soucek got his header in, they all just stood there. That second goal looks offside.Yep, offside. Paul Ferry 134 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:19:34 O'Neill might as well pack up his things in the office. Although isn't Kudus offside there? Michael Kenrick 135 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:27:31 Bit naughty that. But no penalty? Rob Halligan 136 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:27:43 Great finish by Doherty. Michael Kenrick 137 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:28:28 Yep, excellent stretch. Paul Ferry 138 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:28:30 How is that not a penalty? A all-day clear and blatant push. Poetic justice. There we go! Rob Halligan 139 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:29:58 Its raining goals! Michael Kenrick 140 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:30:38 How did that get in? Paul Ferry 141 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:31:16 The worst defence is at it again. No challenge on the edge of the box.I went to the London Stadium in May and was not impressed on bit. Impersonal, shitty atmosphere, crap inside, a bigger Middlesborough or Derby. I haven't been to Spursy's new place yet but I hate the look of it on the inside (though some on here tell us it's a boss ground). But you cannot jazz up a pig with lipstick and the new ground is next to the old one in one of the shittiest places in London. Paul Ferry 142 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:33:48 They're lifting up those Antonio shirts when there is a likelihood that he was driving dangerously like the last time he totalled one of his jazzy cars. We at West Ham support dangerous drivers; we at Liverpool support scum who try to eat other people. Rob Halligan 143 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:34:08 Paul, Spurs new ground is called The Toilet Seat, because from an aerial view, it looks like a toilet seat! Nigel Scowen 144 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:34:18 Pain in the arse to get to as well Paul. Rob Halligan 145 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:42:37 A Jack Harrison effort by Doyle. Spooned high over the bar. Paul Ferry 146 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:43:07 Never liked walking along the Seven Sisters Road, Nigel. Michael Kenrick 147 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:44:15 Step on the foot… no penalty.Seems there are new rules I'm unaware of in play here! Nigel Scowen 148 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:44:49 Like you said, Paul, a rubbish part of London. Rob Halligan 149 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:47:03 Get the tube to Seven Sisters, then the overground to Northumberland Park. Then about a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium. Much easier. Same going back! Nigel Scowen 150 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:48:57 These two are shite. I'm off for more wine. Paul Ferry 151 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:55:44 What if you're looking for bovver, Rob? Rob Halligan 152 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:58:28 Passed all that Paul…….unlike the West Ham and Wolves players, kicking off at the end! Paul Ferry 153 Posted 09/12/2024 at 21:59:48 Aggro. Lemina planted one there. Edward Rogers 154 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:03:18 Anyone take 4 points from our next 4 matches ? Nigel Scowen 155 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:04:34 Definitely, Edward. Jack Convery 156 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:08:00 I would take Lemina in a heartbeat to Goodison. Left-back or left-midfielder. Though Dyche would probably play him as a right-midfielder! Bowen is quality but we couldn't afford him, unfortunately. Rob Halligan 157 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:21:10 Edward, I assume you mean draw with Chelsea and beat Forest? Tom Bowers 158 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:24:55 Lemina is decent but I would like Semenya of Bournemouth. However, so many players impressive at one club can be very disappointing at another. Everton will attest to that as they have had more than their fair share in the last few years… far too many — especially the sick-note brigade. Paul Ferry 159 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:29:48 You are not going to Arsenal or Man City thinking that we will lose, Rob.Lemina is closer to our current needs, Tom, I think. Edward Rogers 160 Posted 09/12/2024 at 22:39:15 Probably do, Rob, but if we could get 3 of them prior to the Forest game then I might get a bit greedy. Whatever we get, we aren't getting relegated this season. Rob Halligan 161 Posted 09/12/2024 at 23:38:33 No Paul, I'm just trying to guess where Edward thinks we will get the 4 points from? Me, I reckon 6! Paul Ferry 162 Posted 10/12/2024 at 19:02:43 Of course, VAR, and the shite get a pen Allen Rodgers 163 Posted 10/12/2024 at 19:37:40 Of course Paul, any game where the shite aren't winning they get a penalty. Even Warnock said it was harsh. Danny O'Neill 164 Posted 10/12/2024 at 20:13:28 Mbappe. Carlo cool as a cucumber as ever!! Mike Gaynes 165 Posted 10/12/2024 at 20:52:21 Danny, he's the King of Kool! Mike Gaynes 166 Posted 10/12/2024 at 21:46:56 Amazing, Barkley slips and falls on his ass and bounces the shot off a defender for what looks like Villas game winner. David Cooper 167 Posted 11/12/2024 at 20:59:07 Watching West Brom v Coventry. West Brom have Holgate at centre back and Lewis Dobbin on the bench, guess he has been loaned out. Ellis Simms is on the bench for Coventry with Frank Lampard in charge. Guess everyone finds their level eventually!
