Apparently...

The Next Gen Cup or Next Generation Cup officially known as Reliance Foundation Premier League Next Gen Cup is a youth football tournament organised by the Premier League in collaboration with Indian Super League and South African Premier Division, as part of the Premier League Youth Games initiative.

Lots more here: Next Gen Cup

Everton also competed last year, losing to West Ham in the 3rd Place game.

And there's this from another site, tracking the starters and subs:

Tried to map the players to the positions but with rolling subs it got quite messy:

First Half (4-2-3-1)
GK: Lukjanciks
LB: Samuels-Smith
LCB: Thomas
RCB: Freedman (New Signing)
RB: Lambert
CM: Matos (New Signing)
CM: Gardner
LM: Stewart
CAM: Bates
RM: Beaumont-Clark
ST: Graham (New Signing)

Second Half (4-3-3)
GK: Pickford
LB: Samuels-Smith / van Schoor
LCB: Thomas
RCB: Freedman (New Signing) / Finney
RB: Lambert
CDM: Foster
CM: Bates / Gardner
CAM: Wren
LM: Stewart / Catesby
RM: Beaumont-Clark / Akarakiri (New Signing)
ST: Graham (New Signing) / Roberts

Only new signings not present in the squad were Gospel-Eze (GK) and Loney (ST).

Anyone have an idea what's going on with Roberts? I seem to recall he made a few appearances in the U18s last year in the midfield but didn't get a scholarship.

My knowledge of the rules is a little scant, is he below an age limit to be able to commit?
