Everton U18s 2 - 1 Stoke City U18s
Everton U18s kicked off the new season in the U18 Premier League (North) with a win over Stoke City this morning at Finch Farm.
The Young Blues spurned the chance to win the New Generation Cup when they finished 5th after falling to a surprising defeat by East Bengal in the Premier League's invitation pre-season tournament that finished last weekend.
Joel Catesby was soon on the scoresheet, slotting home after 7 minutes. But the visitors went straight up the other end and responded in kind.
In the second half, new youngster Braiden Graham did what was required of him at centre-forward to give The Young Blues a nice lead to defend with 15 minutes left.
Everton U18s: Lukjanciks, Lambert, Finney, Thomas, Van Schoor, Wren, Foster, Gardener, Catesby, Graham, Stewart (65' Roberts (90' Akarakiri)).
Subs: Gospel-Eze, Freedman, Matos.
