The Young Blues spurned the chance to win the New Generation Cup when they finished 5th after falling to a surprising defeat by East Bengal in the Premier League's invitation pre-season tournament that finished last weekend. Joel Catesby was soon on the scoresheet, slotting home after 7 minutes. But the visitors went straight up the other end and responded in kind. In the second half, new youngster Braiden Graham did what was required of him at centre-forward to give The Young Blues a nice lead to defend with 15 minutes left.
