Iliman Ndiaye has been awarded Carabao Cup Goal of the Round for his impressive strike in Everton's 3-0 win over Doncaster last month.

The Senegalese forward was signed from Marseille earlier in the summer in a £15m deal that brought him back to England following his spells with Boreham Wood and Sheffield United.

He opened his account for the Blues with a lovely solo effort, the second goal in the tie  and, hopefully, a taster of more to come as this season continues.

Picking the ball up deep in Doncaster's half, Ndiaye advanced towards the box, feinted past the last man and drilled a low shot betweern the goalkeeper and the near post.

While not scoring against Bournemouth in Everton's next outing, he was the star of the show in that Premier League clash before leaving the field to a rapturous reception with the Toffees 2-0 up.

The game somehow ended with Everton losing 3-2, however, as Sean Dyche's side shipped three goals in nine harrowing minutes.

We can only hope that he can produce similar goals against much better defences. Along with Tim in the middle, he certainly looks like an upgrade on what we've had recently.

It was a fine goal always allowing for the weakness of the opposition but still nice to watch.

If Everton can get the defensive side of things organized they may just start to regain some composure and move out of that dreaded drop zone.

Hopefully all the injuries clear up soon and that the new boys start to have an impact like Ndaiye has.

He's just the maverick we needed since Richy left, just need Jazza back asap and we'll be better but I just hope the lads can keep their heads up until then! 😁… it's largely the group from last year so they'll be used to such positions etc. COYB when skies are grey!! Even if Villa beat us fuck it we'll be ok once we start rolling!
