We are losing 1-0 against a United team who are battering everyone this season and have a +36 goal average after eight games, Obi Martin, a prolific goalscorer, got the United goal.

Courtesy of another Everton website!

The match finished 3-1 to United with the Everton goalkeeper saving Everton from a bigger defeat, I don’t know who scored the last two goals, United’s second came from a terrific unstoppable free kick.

Methinks you're perhaps imagining the 1 goal bit of that scoreline, Dave. Maybe you know who scored it?

Wishful thinking? Or is that what you asked your god to bestow upon these brave and valiant lads?

Michael (4), I got the score off Flash Scores and it came up on there, but I realise, now, I was quoting from a previous game early this year when United beat us 3-1.

I kept looking at the scores on today's game and as you can see the first parts of my posts were from today's game and came from another Everton website.

I would never give false information, as you know I'm a Catholic and we are not allowed to tell porkies!

Dave #5.

If you attended mass on 9 consecutive first Fridays of the month, you'll be guaranteed a place in heaven. If you did, then telling the odd porkie won't matter.

If you didn't… there's still time!

I know I've asked this question before, so apologies, but does anybody know what's happened to Coby Ebere? Has he left, is he injured?

As far as I can ascertain, he is still on Everton's books. He seemed to be progressing quite well then, nothing.

Mike (6),

No, if you attend mass on nine consecutive first Fridays of the month you are praying for a particular indulgence to be granted, ie asking for a friend or relation to be relieved of some illness or trouble.

I have done it but maybe was being selfish in what I was asking for, it never happened, wasn't for myself and maybe it did work because the person I was asking for is now relatively happy and contented with his life and you can't get richer than that!

Edward @7,

It's a puzzler, what happened to Coby Ebere.

He came back onto the U18 scene last December after injury problems in 2023, played in 10 straight games, scoring an incredible 12 goals, including 2 hat-tricks, one in his last U18 game against Leeds on 9 March 2024.

He got promoted to the U21s the next week and came on as an 80-minute sub... and nothing since.

Others who follow youth football on GOT think he is probably injured.

Coby Ebere's contract ended with Everton on 30 June 2024.

Dave,

I thought his contract had been extended to June 2025, but don't ask me where I saw that...

Ian (11),

I read it on TransferMarkt, I don't know how reliable they are.

Transfermarkt is very reliable, Dave. And Ebere is also on the club website, pictured on the U21 roster. So he's still aboard.

Regarding the discussion of Catholic practice, did you know that the U18s have a keeper named Goodness Gospel-Eze?

Mike (13) Thanks.

I haven't heard of that keeper but there is a young lad Everton have in that U18 group who has about eight Christian names before you get to his surname!
