Everton U21s hold on for fine win over Brighton

Everton U21s 1 – 0 Brighton U21s

Francis Gomez has been recalled from loan with Lyon where he only played 3 games, and is on the bench. There was a rare start for William Tamen, who also signed in the Summer but appears to have been out injured. Braiden Graham is promoted to this level having impressed with the U18s this season.

Everton U21s took the lead in the first half through a free kick from the right that was converted at the far post by Aled Thomas. The visitors battled hard to get back in it could not break down a very good defensive showing by the Young Blues.

Everton U21s: Barnsley, Samuels-Smith [Y:60’], Thomas, Tamen (46’ Van Schoor [Y:54’]), Welch, J Patterson (71’ Gomez), Barker (89’ Boakye), Bates. Benjamin, Graham (72’ Morgan [Y:74’]), Ebere.
