Man Utd U21s 4 - 2 Everton U21s

Everton U21s' Premier League 2 campaign ended when they fell to Manchester United in their first and now only playoff game after qualifying in the Top 16.

They should have been in a strong position with Tyler Onyango returning from loan, having led twice in the first half through goals by Martin Sherif after great set-up work by Braiden Graham.

But those goals were cancelled out and the home side got two more to bring the season to an end for Paul Tait's charges.

Everton U21s: Barnsley, Dixon, Thomas, Onyango (46' Davis), Welch, J  Patterson (86' Bates), Heath, Gomez, Sherif, Graham, Samuels-Smith (77' Morgan).

Subs not Used: Lukjanciks, Beaumont-Clark.

Watched most of the game via Club link. Difficult to fault our Lads for effort, but United controlled most of the game via their superior control and passing ability.

For us, I do think Dixon has something, he's quick and has a bit of attitude which makes me think we should try him out on loan. As for the rest Graham looks to have some potential, and Heath is tidy and works very hard. Whilst Sherif is certainly from the Beto school of football.

So all in all as has been reported all season none of these players are anywhere near first team ready unfortunately.

According to ToffeeWeb (but the data levels have dropped since the takeover) Barnsley, Onyango, Patterson, Heath, Bates will all be out of contract while the date of contract finishes for Thomas, Davis, Gomez, Beaumont-Clark and Morgan are not known and Lubjanciks is not listed.

Seems not only the 1st XI which will be having a good clear out - especially David's comment that none of the 14 are ready for the 1st team.

Yea, apologies for the declining data levels in terms of veracity, Phil. I don't have direct access to update the 'fixed' files that form the rest of the website beyond the news, mailbag and comment articles.
