An Everton XI will play in a pre-season tournament at Partick Thistle on the weekend of 21-22 July, with a fixture against Airdrie United on the Saturday and then either a final or third-place playoff against the hosts or Celtic the following day.

The senior side are at Motherwell on the 21st so this will most likely be a reserve XI that takes part.

Meanwhile, Everton's very young Blues, the Under-9s are through to the knockout phase of the Seia Cup in Portugal.

The only English side represented in a competition that also features youth teams from Portugese giants Sporting Lisbon and Benfica., Everton recorded 13-0, 9-0 and 7-0 wins over EAS Alta Lisboa, Alcoitao and UD Alta Lisboa respectively to top group A convincingly and now progress to the elimination rounds.
