Everton interested in taking Montoya

17/11/2014

Everton are apparently being linked with a move for Barcelona's unsettled fullback Martin Montoya who has been told he can leave the Nou Camp in January if he can find the right club.

Montoya signed a new five-year deal with Barca over the summer in the belief that he would be taking over first-team duties from Danni Alves but has made just one appearance so far this season.

A clutch of suitors including Napoli, Liverpool, Inter and Bayer Leverkusen are supposedly interested in the 23 year-old and Spanish sources are reporting are now saying that Everton have entered the race with the intent to take Montoya on a loan in January with a £7m option to buy in the summer.
