Vague Sigurdsson links resurface

Everton are mentioned among the likes of Roma, Inter and Leicester by The Telegraph as being "keen" on signing Gylfi Sigurdsson who remains the standout player in a struggling Swansea City team.

The Blues were said to be interested in signing the Icelandic star last summer but were put off by the £25m asking price.

The club's struggles for consistency and the kind of creativity Sigurdsson can provide may have changed that in the interim but, with Morgan Schneiderlin expected to sign for a similar fee and £25m asset Yannick Bolasie sidelined for a year, there may also be some continued reluctance to splash out again.
