Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reacts to the post transfer deadline day fan furore

In interviews with the mainstream media, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has called on supporters to remain positive following a frustrating deadline day, insisting that the squad already at Finch Farm possesses high quality despite fan anxieties over missing out on key summer targets.

It's all good and well Dewsbury-Hall speaking his mind but I never understand any Premier League player reading fans comments, it can't do an awful lot of good as most fans are never happy.
Look at the fans of title-winning Arsenal last season, swore blind the _____ was about to blow the lot and the players were fit to burn, that's a team who wrestled the Premier League title from Man City, probably the best team in the world.
Back to us, though, I think Dewsbury-Hall should understand we didn't want to lose one of our best players, leave the replacement for right-back til very last minute, and end up with just one recognised striker, if he knows football, he surely should understand we want better from our owners, and can clearly see our fans back the players once they step foot on the pitch -- it's two completely different departments.

Although I do understand what Dewsbury-Hall is saying. We have a great group of 18 players, but we have a manager who isn't very good at utilising the players he has at his disposal until it is forced on him.
If Moyes rotates his players more smartly, we could have players who don't break down and a squad fighting for each other. I honestly think we are only about 3 players away (a striker, a right-back and a left-back) from a very competitive squad.

The perceived overreaction is due to an absence of decent communication and a basic lack of trust. Dewsbury-Hall probably knows this if he did read fans' comments and is properly avoiding any involvement in that discussion, as he should.
To respond with, "you think you are annoyed...", obviously isn't a good move. I respect his statement while completely empathizing with those who have criticized the lapse.

KDH and a few others I hope we can retain their services ! You know how it is these days, good player putting in decent performances, (Illi Ndiaye a prime example) next thing the big spenders are tempting them away.
Having said that, I was sorry to see Illi go, but on the other hand, it represented good business on what we paid, and the player made indications that his head had been turned and wanted to leave anyway !
It makes you wonder why they sign contracts, knowing they are not really binding, but they represent a good bargaining chip, with the buying Club, especially if a decent length of time left on them !
In my humble opinion, we could have got some more needed cash for him. When you see some of the fees for lesser talented players, being double that of N'diaye !

It’s a fair comment t, if we are lucky with injuries then we’ve got a very talented, albeit small, squad.
We particularly have a bit of depth in the middle of the park and the wings, there is much to be positive about.

A pulled hamstring for Barry or a full-back (god-forbid), and Dewsbury-Hall’s comments will look fairly daft.
No-one is doubting the doggedness or fight of the manager or squad, simply the incompetence that led us to having one striker, one left-back and one midfield who doesn’t like to play right-back but if you force me I’ll do it.

In a nutshell Steve. Another concern was that there must have been at least nineteen players fit for selection during the last seven games of last season, but we had a manager who was very reluctant to use a lot of them.
Hopefully now the standard of the squad has allegedly improved, then the manager will use more of his players. If we can also stay away from injuries regarding our key players, then we will also hopefully get to see that “allegedly has now become a definitely”

Absolutely love the attitude, Kiernan BUT one or two injuries and we’re in trouble, especially up front. That’s not on you, the players or even the manager (giving Dithery a pass here). The fans are questioning the ownership and the higher ups and putting pressure on them. The fans, players and manager - if we all pull together - could be great. And it should be because this is Everton Football Club. Let’s see this tonight at Spurs - no rolling over. COYB

So the players also see the news too who knows if most of them do read ToffeeWeb, what KDH said is true we need to stop being negative and get behind the team like he said the quality of the squad have improved drastically.

KDH, have a good look at the 3,000 or more supporters cheering you on today, they don’t need any advice about getting behind the players, same as those cheering you on at every home game when the players are having a go.
The supporters have more than proved their worth when they have been really needed over many years including the the last 30 odd years without a trophy, when the chairman and the board including an ex player all deserted the club, now these owners who have never been near the club, never spoke to the manager or any of you players.
The real life blood of Everton FC are the supporters. managers and players come and go, quite a few have stayed on and joined the supporters when they retired, many are still revered long after they have gone.
Get on the pitch today and let your feet do the talking for the whole game, the lot of you are more than well payed to do this.

That's the disappointment. It isn't a reflection of the lads on the pitch. Its a reflection that they've been sold short to compete for Europe & Cups, in a season we needed to kick on.
Opportunity comes and goes. You have to be ready to take it. Everton Football Club isn't ready, and thats on the owners & structure theyve put in.

Some of the hysteria in the media was unwarranted. If they thought the difference between a B+ window and a catastrophe was an injured Balogun then that calls into question the validity of their opinions on the matter.

KDH shows a positive attitude, but as Steve Brown said, that's fine unless we have an injury to Barry and our only fullbacks, between now and January, which is total incompetence by Kinnear & Co.
We won't see Norgaard until after the international break, and just read this morning, he's on £100k per week Johnson is on £145k per week, so it was more than just a swap with McNeill?

Mark(#24), I think there's a possibility we could end up in a relegation battle if luck doesn't go out way.
The squad itself is quite strong and as things stand I think we could do ok.
However if we are unlucky and suffer any sort of prolonged injury crisis then we could really struggle.
Just have to keep our fingers crossed for a relatively injury free season.

Christy (29) if those figures are correct Christy it’s another reason for the players to keep their mouths shut and do their talking with their feet, mind you they all know before they sign that Grealish is on £270,000 per week— more importantly so do their agents and they are asking us to keep quiet about these ridiculous wages and get behind the team— cheeky bastards, some of them are that slow it’s hard to stay behind them.

Johnson is an elite player, I think we got really lucky there, but there was no way he was taking a pay cut to come to us. He's in a rut, but scored 20 goals from the wing in his last season at Tottingham. That's 20 more than Jack Harrison,

I don't think he's ever going to be one of those players who fans enjoy watching Christy, but in the right system I think he can really flourish for us, We need to be patient with him though, he's clearly one of those 'confidence' players.

He is 100% right! Many on here talked about possible relegation over the course of the tensfer window and quite frankly they know nothing about football. We won’t be anywhere near it with the squad we have, even with a couple of injuries. Many people just fear mongering with glasses half empty, we have a good team even with the lack of signing and the lad is absolutely right. Some right gobshites on the internet talking about possible relegation. We got a manager with the 3rd most games in the history of the prem and a good squad. Get real. I too rolled my eyes all summer when I read some of the posts on here and other places, glad the players do too!… Spurs spent half a billion and look at them! The shite have got three £100 million players in their squad and can’t even manage a decent chance against Fulham who havnt scored a goal yet this season. Transfer activity means very little

I'm another one of those posters, Sean, especially after watching us play today.
I loved our spirit, I didn't mind how we played, but the squad has been left short of numbers and I think it's really going to tell.
Hopefully I'm wrong, because we do have some good players, plus once we get back from the 3-week international break, it'll only be 3 months until the January transfer window opens...
But it's a big ask and an unbelievable dereliction of duty, what our recruitment team have done to us, leaving us with only one centre-forward who, although he tries, is absolutely miles off the pace at times.
