Forward expected to miss 'a few weeks'
Everton have revealed that they expect Gerard Deulofeu to miss "a few weeks" of the season after the forward injured a hamstring in Saturday's match over Fulham. The prognosis is better than fears that he would be out for months with a more serious muscle tear but still deprives Roberto Martinez of a valuable asset at an important time in the campaign.

The Spaniard pulled up clutching his thigh with an hour gone of the 4-1 win and had to be stretchered off.

A club spokesperson said: "Scans have now shown the extent of the soft tissue injury in his right hamstring, which is likely to keep him out for a few weeks."
