Croatian to discuss personal terms with Tigers

Nikica Jelavic could be set to sign for Hull City after Everton agreed a £5.5m deal for the Croatian striker that could, according to Liverpool Echo reporter, Greg O'Keeffe, eventually rise to £7.5m in appearance-related add-ons.

The 28 year-old, who alongside John Heitinga is one of two players whom Roberto Martinez has said could move on this month, has been given permission to hold talks with the Humberside club to negotiate personal terms.

Jelavic was being mentioned as a possible starter this weekend against Norwich after his return to the scoresheet in the FA Cup tie against QPR last weekend. Now, however, he will travel to Yorkshire to conclude a move that should guarantee him more chances of regular first-team football than are on offer at Everton where he hasn't started a League game since September.

The former Rangers striker has endured two barren seasons with the Blues since exploding onto the Premier League scene in early 2012 when became the fastest player to reach double figures in Everton's history. He lost his starting berth a year ago and hasn't scored a Premier League goal since his emotional goal against Manchester City in March.

This season he has been kept out of the team by the form of Romelu Lukaku who is Everton's leading scorer with nine goals.
