Season › 2013-14 › News Coleman injury to be assessed Lyndon Lloyd , 21 January, 0comments | Jump to most recent Seamus Coleman will have a scan on his hamstring within the next 24 hours to determine the extent of the injury that forced him off against West Brom last night. The Irishman was withdrawn with 10 minutes of the contest left gingerly clutching the back of his thigh but the fact that he was not hobbling and walked to the team coach under his own steam is seen as a good sign. Roberto Martinez admitted that he is concerned but was not jumping to conclusions until the club's medical staff have been able to assess the injury. "It's important that we give him 24 hours and assess him from there," Martinez said. "It's not a good sign because he would never normally want to come off." Though any tweak to his hamstring is unlikely to be as serious as the one that has sidelined Gerrard Deulofeu, there are obvious concerns that the in-form full back will miss the Merseyside derby at Anfield next week.
