Everton in the Community is counting down to the finale of its 25th anniversary campaign on Saturday 1 February when the Blues take on Aston Villa.

The Club's official charity will celebrate the end of its year-long silver jubilee programme at its dedicated birthday game, which will thank Evertonians for their support over the past 12 months.

To celebrate Everton in the Community's 25th anniversary the charity launched its most ambitious fundraising campaign yet - to raise £1million and help even more vulnerable and underprivileged people on Merseyside for the next 25 years and beyond.

For the past year, Everton in the Community has been asking the capacity of Goodison Park, 40,000 supporters, to each raise just £25 to help achieve its £1million target. The response from Evertonians, individuals and organisations, from across the world has been phenomenal and during half time at the Aston Villa fixture, the charity will announce the final fundraising total.

Ahead of the game, supporters will be treated to a host of activities to celebrate Everton in the Community's 26th birthday.

Live entertainment, interviews with former players, music from Jennifer Jewell and Batala, face painting and a live auction will all take place in the Fan Zone. In addition, the official matchday programme will feature a commemorative 12-page pull-out celebrating highlights from the 25th anniversary campaign, how the money raised will make a difference and how fans can still get involved with the charity.

Speaking ahead of the birthday fixture, Everton in the Community Chief Executive Officer, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, said: “Our silver jubilee campaign has been a roaring success, full of joy and achievement. In the past year we have celebrated the difference Everton has made to the local community for the last 25 years, raised a significant amount of money to secure our future and been recognised on a national and international stage for the work we do seven days a week, 365 days a year, for which I am extremely proud.

“I would like to thank every supporter who has contributed to the success of the campaign and I hope everyone attending our birthday fixture against Aston Villa on 1 February enjoys the festivities.”

To thank fans further for their support, Everton in the Community staff will be on hand to give out limited edition, special commemorative pin badges.

There is still time to get involved with the 25th anniversary ahead of 1 February. For further information and advice on a range of fundraising activities, visit evertonfc.com/community.
