The Spanish forward was just showing signs of consistently good form in December before he was struck down with a hamstring injury but his display at Newcastle last Tuesday showed that he is approaching those same levels. That has delighted Martinez but the manager feels that the 20-year-old would benefit enormously from another season in the Premier League with the Blues. “I'm delighted with his attitude and the respect he's shown in changing to the demanding league. It shows maturity beyond his years,” Martinez said. “[If he were to stay] He would carry on developing here.
