Leighton Baines has made a point of thanking Everton's incredible supporters for their backing throughout the season, particularly away from home, saying that it doesn't go unnoticed in the dressing room.

Speaking with Darren Griffiths for evertontv after Sunday's 2-0 win at Hull, the 29 year-old expressed his thanks to the Blues' fans, particularly following their vocal support at the KC Stadium during which they celebrated an impressive first season under Roberto Martinez.

"[The support] was first class, not just today but throughout the whole season," Baines said. "At Goodison there have been some great games and some great atmospheres generated, and the travelling support we get every week is unbelievable.

"It's important to know that it doesn't go unappreciated and unnoticed by the lads. We've just mentioned it again in the dressing room, what a great following we've had.

"It's important we thank the fans for that because it's time and it's money that people spend coming to watch us, and, as I say, it certainly doesn't go unappreciated."

Baines is looking forward to the World Cup now and will take a couple of days off before meeting up with the England squad next Sunday as they begin their preparations for Brazil now that Roy Hodgson's squad is mostly confirmed.

Baines is one of three Everton players named in the 23-man England party, with Phil Jagielka and Ross Barkley also confirmed, while John Stones is on standby for Manchester United's Phil Jones who is hopeful of recovering from a shoulder injury.
