England, featuring both Ledson and his Everton team-mate Jonjoe Kenny, won their first two group games against Malta and Turkey but lost 2-0 to the Netherlands yesterday. Ledson believes England can overcome Portugal though, a team they lost to 3-1 back in August and then drew with 2-2 in February. “They always have a good side, so we are going to have to dig deep,” he says on TheFA.com. This will be up there with one of the biggest games many of us will play in. The semi-finals of a European Championship — it's massive. It's what we have been working for all year and we have 80 minutes now to go and give it our all. “We possess the quality; we just have to hope we can produce it on Sunday to get us through.” Ledson was also interviewed by UEFA.com today where he talks about the need to gee his team up for the game against the Portuguese, his admiration for Ross Barkley and life under Roberto Martinez at Everton. That gives you a boost and makes you want to play well every game so he notices. Every time you train with him he will always pull you to one side and see how you are.
