Kevin Mirallas says that there is great belief in the Belgium's young squad but that they are staying focused knowing that the experience at the World Cup will stand them in good stead for the future.

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil marks the first time the Belgians have qualified for the finals of a major tournament since 2002 but such is the talent in their ranks that they are many people's dark horses in Brazil.

With that comes a certain degree of pressure but Mirallas says that the players are remaining grounded while confident that they can meet much of that expectation.

"It is going to be special," the Blues' forward says. "But we remain very focused on our goal. This is a squad with a real sense of belief, but we are keeping our feet very much on the ground.

"All we are concentrating on at the moment is getting out of the group because it won't be easy."

Belgium were drawn into a potentially tricky group with Russia, South Korea and Algeria but the expectation is that a talented group that includes Premier League stars like Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Vincent Kompany should qualify for the latter stages of the competition.

No matter what happens, Mirallas feels that Belgium will be in even stronger for the experience in Euro2016.

"You have to consider that we are a young group of players and only two members of the squad have played in a World Cup before," he continued.

"The rest of us don't have that experience and you have to be honest and say that experience is important in these tournaments. We can't get carried away.

"The one thing we can definitely say is that we will be stronger for Euro 2016. We will be better for this experience of the World Cup."
