Two month and a one month loan, not much point in that. Be suprised if they get a game!

I think it's great when the younger lads are loaned out, sometimes though I have to question the length of the loans.

What can anyone gain from a month loan?

Please say RM hasn't sweetened Wigan up in preparation of another raid on his former home.

In Jonjoe's case, hopefully it will be to gain first team experience.

In Junior's case, it may be a trial as he certainly hasn't got a future with us.

I've noticed this a lot in the lower leagues. My brother follows Crawley Town and they have had a number of 1-2 month loans in the last couple of seasons. Maybe a financial thing? They still have to meet FFP rules.

You'd hope Jonjoe gets 4-5 appearances, but Francisco will be lucky to get 2. Still, competitive games with important points up for grabs may give them a true taste of what is expected.

I'm guessing the length of the loan stops Wigan being locked into paying wages for players that aren't what they need for too long. After the intial stint they'll be able to extend the loan if the players are useful, if they're not they don't have a player they don't want hanging around all season.

That makes sense Jack. Quite a few of our loan players have had the loans extended in the past.

I'm hoping Jonjoe will eventually make our first eleven. There's something about this lad... I believe he's got what it takes.

It looks a good move for Jonjoe, with Browning being the obvious youngster to cover right back next season, it also moves him ahead of Gethin Jones although arguably he's there already as past captain of the U21s.

If Junior is serious in his recent statements then this is the chance to show it. One month may be too short in respect of game time but long enough for Wigan to assess his attitude in training, and report back accordingly.

Is Francisco Junior still an U21 player? Feels like he has been in our squad for years!

We are loaning out and now Garbutt who is a member of our first team squad is also going to Fulham on loan !

When are we going to strengthen our squad ?

The season is two weeks away and we are doing nothing so far IMO.Are we going to wait to see how we get on against Watford ?
