Everton's Under-18s hammered Derby County's youngsters 6-1 thanks to a brace apiece for free-scoring Shane Lavery and skipper Callum Lees.

After Henry Wise had equalised for the visitors to cancel out Lavery's 10th-minute opener, Manasse Mampala restored Everton's lead five minutes before half-time.

Everton ran away with it in the second period, with Antony Evans and two from Lees making it 5-1 before Lavery wrapped things up with a sixth later in the half.

Everton U18s: Renshaw; Morris, Harrington, Baningime, Lees, Feeney, Bramall (74' Hornby), Kiersey (68' Denny), Lavery, Evans, Mampala (69' Duke-McKenna).
Subs: Pierce, Moore.
