Thomas's dream day

Young Evertonian Thomas Taylor enjoyed a day to remember by taking part in the 2016/17 official team photoshoot thanks to the generosity of selfless Blue, Phil Redmond, who donated the prize.

Eight-year-old Thomas, who has been battling cancer since he was six months old, was joined by his family as he met Ronald Koeman and the first-team squad at Goodison Park.

And that was not all. After meeting his heroes and featuring in a photograph on the Goodison pitch, Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Williams presented Thomas with their boots as a memento of the special day.

“I had a brilliant time,” said Thomas, who confirmed the two pairs of boots will take pride of place in his bedroom window.

“I enjoyed all of it. It was great to actually walk out on the pitch, but my favourite part was meeting all of the players and having my picture taken with Rom.”

Blues Ambassador, Graeme Sharp, added: “Thomas has had a really tough time so it was great for him to enjoy something a bit different with us today.

“He's a massive Blue, as are the rest of his family, and he has the support from everyone at the football club.”

Heart warming! And reminds me why I support the Blues. Good luck to the young fella.
