Former Club Secretary Jim Greenwood has died, Everton have announced.

Jim served the club in what was a precursor to the current Chief Executive position for close to two decades between 1975 and 1994, including of course during Everton's golden spell during the mid-1980s during which he was an influential figure at Goodison Park.

He was described as integral to the functioning of Everton during those years and there have been glowing tributes from club figures following the news of his passing.

If they think his passing is sad, how has Jags been getting away with it for so long? Jags couldn't find an Everton shirt in the club shop.

Excuse the warped attempt at humour. Utmost respect for Mr. Greenwood, proper club man blue through and through.

NSNO... RIP
