Season › 2016-17 › News Jones joins Barnsley on loan Lyndon Lloyd Tuesday, 17 January, 2017 5comments | Jump to most recent Everton Under-23s defender and frequent team captain Gethin Jones has moved to Barnsley until the end of the season. The 21-year-old is the latest player from the Blues' Academy to get an opportunity to gain first-team experience on loan this season. Jones, now a regular for Wales U21s, had a spell at Plymouth Argyle last term where he made six appearances. Not that I'm writing Gethin off, he is a lad with a lot of energy, determination and fight in him, he has also played wide on the right as well as full back and the fact he has captained the U23s means the club have a lot of trust in the lad.
