Under-23 friendlies this week

The Under-23s will play pre-season frendlies at Burscough and Accrington Stanley this week.

Updates:

David Unsworth's Premier League 2 victors were dute travel to Burscough on Wednesday evening, but the game was called off due to an unsuitable pitch.

And on Saturday, they will play their pre-season friendly at Accrington Stanley, kick-off 7:45 3:00 pm.

It is great to have such a good exciting second string, basically like having a second team to support.

Great team... even better manager. If Koeman was ever tempted by Barcelona then an Usworth - Ferguson combo would be my choice.

What happened at Burscough? I've never heard of a summer match cancelled without, snow, flooding, warfare, zombies or impending Armageddon.

We were looking forward to a walk by the canal, a pint in the Ship Inn and the youngsters running riot on a nice summer evening.

That sounds more sensible, Iain. They never play Saturday games in the evening. I'll check the official Everton website where I got that info...

And yes, they also now say 3pm Saturday, Thanks for spotting that.
