Hammers fail in Mirallas loan bid

It appears as though Everton will only let Kevin Mirallas leave Goodison on loan this week after they reportedly rejected an offer from West Ham to take him on loan for the rest of the season.

The Blues are thought to have knocked back a similar offer from his former club Olympiacos over the weekend when the Belgian was left out of the squad to face Chelsea.

Ronald Koeman explained to the media that it was due to his attitude. Mirallas has barely featured in the opening matches of the season despite signing new terms at Goodison earlier this year.

Mirallas has been left out of Belgium's squad this evening in case he would become the subject of a transfer but there has been no further speculation over a potential destination for him.

Can't see the point in a loan unless it has with option to buy tied in, because he will be 30 next year I think, and becomes less sellable.

Better than we have, yet someone wants to do their dirty laundry in public... roll on 2 years.

Why did we renew his contract. There isn't an asset to protect when no one is interested in him.

I think I see an attitude problem at the club but unfortunately it is Koeman's

So Koeman has given it to Barkley in public. He now wants Mirallas gone due to attitude. It was rumoured late last year that Deulofeu criticized his tactics, and that spelled the end for him.

One of the worst things I have seen from a manager was Koeman standing and throwing his hand dismissively at Barkley for all to see, following a poor free kick earlier in the season. That's attitude.

I don't remember any problems like this in the team before Koeman. Somebody is not as strong as he likes to paint.

Mirallas only became petulant all of a sudden when Koeman arrived?

No. RK probably has him in mind as a back up goalkeeper. ,Everton is going to be a laughing stock again. Is he going to be the main striker?

I can just imagine it: We're defending for our lives seconds away from a precious draw at Mordor. Barkley picks it up, beats three men slips it to Mirallas. He plays it low and hard across goal. Niasse steams in and smashes it past whoever plays in goal for the shite these days.

Deliriously happy Koeman acolytes swamp TW with I-told-you-so posts

Mirales must be feeling like a million dollars right now knowing the club is more than happy to get rid of him. A harmonious team dynamic, I think not.

I'm not a big fan of our keV but Koeman also doesn't come out of this smelling of roses.
Got to admit I'm not sure whether Koeman is the right man for the job as many of his decisions totally baffle me but I also think he or indeed any manner needs time to implement their ideas etc.
I think he deserves until the end of December at least to see how things are. If we are way off the pace of a top 6 finish by then, then maybe Moshiri should consider making a change.

Rather than slate Mirallas in public put your arm round Kev and say you have 6 games now playing down the middle and show me what you can do. I have always seen Mirallas as a striker.

Team v Spurs

Pickford (if fit)

Mirallas

Looks a reasonable team to me that one

I think Mirallas has many of the attributes to play centre forward. He was very capable of playing the position before coming to us. Also agree that Koeman seems far too "Trump like". Start trying to get the players to play for you instead of against. As we have all seen Koeman is also quite capable of making mistakes.

Not a prayer he'd play Mirallas through the middle. Our Ron doesn't like players with pace or players who can get a goal out of nothing. No, Mirallas is too mercurial for Koeman's liking. That said, he is one frustrating fucker.
