Season › 2017-18 › News U18s knocked out of FA Youth Cup Michael Kenrick Friday, 8 December, 2017 11comments | Jump to most recent Everton U18s were knocked out this season's FA Youth Cup at the first hurdle by Ipswich Town at Goodison Park tonight. The first half was a cagey affair, with real chances at a premium, despite the home side dominating possession. But the visitors scored soon after the restart to put the blues behind. As the half continued, the visitors went further ahead when El Mizouni found the bottom corner of Hansen's net with a drilled effort from 20 yards after the Everton keeper, Hansen, had just made a great save to keep the deficit down to one goal. But the Blues responded well with Mampala's shot-turned-cross falling into the path of substitute Adedoyin, who tapped in from close-range. However, it proved too little, too late with Everton failing to progress for another year. Everton U18s: Hansen, Moore, Anderson, Collins, Richards, Denny, Iversen, Kerr (65' Adedoyin), Mampala (88' Scully), Gordon (84' Simms), Duke-McKenna. Subs not Used: Hilton, Warren. Disclaimer James Flynn 1 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:03:00 Good luck to the lads. Dave Abrahams 2 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:17:56 Cannot get the game on the EvertonFC.com website even though I am eligible. Michael Kenrick 3 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:28:28 So the "Official Member" link takes you nowhere:http://www.evertonfc.com/officialmember Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:30:27 And the Live Blog is really hard to find:http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/12/08/blog-fa-youth-cupStill 0-0. Lev Vellene 5 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:43:19 Been trying to get the stream for most of the first half now, with no luck at all. And even before today, I've wondered why there is no link to the 'Members Only' section from the main OS page? I always have to access some article to find a link in a side panel for that section... I don't think EFC will win many more prizes for their web site, as this is frankly quite daft! . Dave Abrahams 6 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:53:26 Lev(5) it will be no consolation to you but I am doing my nut in trying to get on to something I am entitled to but they just have you going round in circles.Everton do your head in on and off the field. Derek Knox 7 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:54:20 There always seems to be a Fiasco when it comes to the Everton TV links, I remember preseason paying £9.99 to watch all the games, and due to technical difficulties I don't think many people, if any got to watch all the games. I managed to see one full game but had blips, and less than half of another in total. You would have thought they'd have sorted it by now, or did Koeman run off with the transmission link too. Well okay dat ish football Jim, but not ash we know it. Michael Kenrick 8 Posted 08/12/2017 at 19:54:45 Drives me crazy every time I have to use it, Lev. I hate the design. At least we're not missing a whole bunch: 0-0 at HT. Lev Vellene 9 Posted 08/12/2017 at 20:42:27 At least I discovered a link to the Official Members section! But that is just as effective as clicking any random article, it's at the bottom of the EvertonTV tab. I could swear it was not even there last week... ;D John Dean 10 Posted 09/12/2017 at 10:00:09 I arrived at the ground without any cash and not allowed free entry as a member due to FA competition rules apparently, so thank you to the Official Steward who paid my entrance fee and saved me an annoying drive back to Warrington. Pleased to see these players for the first time and several caught my eye. I thought we played the better football and always looked to be in control of the game but failing to create few clear chances. Gordon oozes class and cockiness till he disappeared in second-half; Kerr and Denny commanded midfield, Moore provided penetration on the right. I was disappointed that Ellis Simms didn't feature more in the game especially as I couldn't decide whether Mampala on an off-night was worse with the ball (consistently losing possession) or without it (offside). Phill Thompson 11 Posted 09/12/2017 at 20:47:46 If it's any conciliation to others, I got the link working eventually but it went down completely at about 55 mins never to return. Pathetic.
