Everton Under-23s will play friendlies against Bamber Bridge and Stockport County as part of their upcoming pre-season schedule.

The young Blues will travel to The Sir Tom Finney Stadium in Irongate to face Bamber Bridge on Wednesday 18 July, with a 7:30pm kick-off.

Everton Under-23s then face Stockport County on Saturday 21 July. Kick-off at Edgeley Park is set for 3pm.

The fixtures serve as preparation for David Unsworth's side ahead of the new Premier League 2 season, which is due to begin in mid-August.

Where is that German promising kid... Dendoncker, or what was his name?

As far as I can ascertain, although he is still listed on the official site, Anton Donker returned to Wolfsburg at the end of last year following his second loan spell with our U23s.

Leander Dendoncker is the young Belgian midfielder who was linked with us and West Ham in January.

How fitting that our juniors will play a game at the football ground nearest the River Mersey.
