Sigurdsson features in Iceland draw

Gylfi Sigurdsson got another hour-plus worth of action as Iceland finished their World Cup preparation with a 2-2 draw with Ghana last night.

The Everton midfielder, who played 27 minutes as a substitute against Norway recently, was named in the starting XI this time and he completed 67 minutes before making way.

Thus far there has been no reported reaction in the knee he damaged in March which prematurely ended his 2017-18 season.

Go for it, Gylfi. You can do it, mate. You will be an Everton idol, too, in with the right squad!

I hope he has a good World Cup, but that Iceland bow out in the group stage, so that Gylfi gets enough time to rest and recuperate and be ready for a full pre-season. I believe his first season with Everton was ruined because of the protracted move and consequently, he did not get a proper pre-season.

The second Iceland goal was from Sigurdsson's shot, saved by the goalie and went straight to a header. Good game from him in an unexciting match.

I'm having a wee punt on Gylfi being player of the World Cup. If Iceland get going then Sigurdsson could have a good tournament.

He's a massive price. so I'm only talking about a small punt.

Pickford could also have a good tournament.
