The Blues will receive £1m as the Canaries' promotion triggered a clause that was part of the agreement that saw Steven Naismith transfer between the two clubs for £8.5m in 2016. The Scot has, however, been released by the Canaries and is now a free agent. Reader Comments (18) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission. Steven Bencz 5 Posted 21/05/2019 at 04:19:20 I remember when he scored 3 against Chelsea. It was a beauty. Kunal Desai 6 Posted 21/05/2019 at 06:29:52 Kenwright has already accounted for it with the Arteta money under 'Operating Costs' 🤣 Derek Knox 7 Posted 21/05/2019 at 08:03:41 Mike G, he's doing a lot better for us than Sandro, and earning us money, and he's not even here. :-)Steven, remember that too, it was the 'perfect hat-trick' if recollection is right, one left peg, one right peg and one headed goal. He will also be fondly remembered at Everton, for the work, at his own expense, he did for the homeless. A man who never forgot his roots, and didn't try to live above his station. While all others were driving to training in their Porsches and Ferraris, Nais had one of the old style Minis. Great guy and a decent human being. Shane Corcoran 8 Posted 21/05/2019 at 08:23:49 He loved a good moan though. David Pearl 9 Posted 21/05/2019 at 10:28:18 Wheres the Naismith money Bill!! Steve Hogan 10 Posted 21/05/2019 at 10:37:32 New lawnmower's after all then for Finch farm. Paul O'Neill 11 Posted 21/05/2019 at 11:00:43 Naismith was and is a gent. 🙠Kevin Molloy 12 Posted 21/05/2019 at 11:17:57 well that's Sandro's wages for this month and next sorted anyway, good old Norwich! Bill Gienapp 13 Posted 21/05/2019 at 11:20:08 We can put this towards triggering Mbappe's release clause. Frank Boyle 14 Posted 21/05/2019 at 15:37:19 Respect to whoever put that clause in his contract, Nais has been on loan at Hearts for the best part of 18 months! Tony Everan 15 Posted 21/05/2019 at 18:42:15 Paul 11 Agree with that, Naismith gave his all and was well liked and respected. ٟM ain't much in today's game, but any positive financial news is welcome. Henry Lloyd 16 Posted 22/05/2019 at 06:55:29 Mike Gaynes 4As someone who regularly pulls people up "Silly Comments""Nais finally scores for us" is about as silly as it gets!As the very next Poster hastily reminded you I can vividly remember the "Perfect Hat Trick" he scored against Chelsea aswell. What Everton do you watch???? Lee Brownlie 17 Posted 23/05/2019 at 09:09:07 Mike Gaynes (#4)'Nais finally scores for us!'Really? Well, I guess snides need to snide, ridiculous bs or not!!!
