Good to see some of the youngsters are going too, although no Bowler or Feeney, yet Mirallas, Pennington and Niasse, along with the injury prone McCarthy are taking up spaces and funds, maybe they need a holiday?

I've read that Bowler, might be going to Hull City on loan Andrew, and I don't know why, but I've got a feeling we might end up getting a winger back in return?

I think the kids name is Jarod something, but he's scored a lot of goals in the championship, Silva must know him, and these young hungry players, usually end up giving more value in the end?

Tony, that kind of makes sense, the kid is Jarod Bowen, and has been linked with us several times before. Silva obviously knows the lad having cut his EPL teeth there.

A lot of people will probably dismiss this as not being good enough (Championship standard and all that) but this kid has regularly scored, and is not a one-season wonder either, apparently he is deceptively quick as well. I would certainly not be averse to giving him a go even if it is a loan with an option to buy.

The late great Leonard Rigsby Rossiter was on the pitch at Goodison, juggling a football and had a photo spread in the following home programe, must have been around 77-78, can any fellow Blue out there, remember which home programe he appeared in..

So much deadwood still! Looks like there's been no takers for Niasse and the rest. Expect a bunch of heavily subsidized loan moves over the next month or so.

The Club site confirms this is the full list that travelled.

The most notable absentee for me is U-23 skip Morgan Feeney. It's all the more surprising given that a more junior centre back - Lewis Gibson - and a more senior fringe player - Matthew Pennington - HAVE both travelled.

If I was Feeney, I'd be both concerned and disappointed with that.

It's a strange one Jay. Why include players if they are in no way part of the managers plans? In particular Mirallas doesn't make any sense at all unless he has declared a new attitude and has ripped through training all of which seems unlikely.

Calvert-Lewin on extended leave? I know he is technically entitled! But with the early exit of the England Under-21s how much holiday does he need?

With rumour control going into overdrive re signing a striker, I know where I would be right now. In pre-season training showing my hunger and commitment for the main striker's position.

Don't get me wrong, he has a lot of potential, but needs to be seen to want the number one striker's role. He won't do that on holiday.

Surely Calvert-Lewin should now be in Switzerland and staking a serious claim?

Mind you he probably feels under no real pressure looking that Niasse and Tosun are the only other two options, hardly mesmerising choices for a top Premier League club.

At 23 next year, Calvert-Lewin can't keep being classed as “potential”; really it's got to start happening sooner rather than later, I'm all for patience but I'm becoming impatient waiting for Everton to achieve something different than middle-ranked finishes and no trophies.

The club's progress on the pitch outweighs patience on players.

I thought Mirallas had agreed a deal with Standard Liege.

Jim I agree with you about Calvert-Lewin. He does lots of good work for the team but this is his Watershed season where he has got to start putting them away.

We have been far too reliant on Sigurdsson and Richarlison and this season we need more goals from other positions in the team especially our Number 9.

I would also hope that Gomes and Gana produce more goals this season.

I read the Liege move was complete fantasy and denied by all parties, sadly.

People complaining about the deadwood traveling, but what else are the club to do with them? They still are our players and have some £ value to them. Sticking them with the U23's will diminish their value even more. Having them play in puts them in the shop window, to hopefully help shift them.

They've been in the shop window for years like a faded packet of crackers.
Make them paint the ground til they fck off.

Paul(#24); Great idea that, pay them 50,60,70K a week to turn up and go home when everyone does but rather than improve their attitude and try and to see if they may be of some use playing football and therefore a saleable asset, just judge them on how good the paintwork is.
Hopefully, our management team are a little more expansive in their thinking.

The talk is Josh Bowler IS going to Hull, just finalizing the deal. Whether that means we are negotiating for Jarrod Bowen I am not sure.

Morgan Feeney is with the Under-23s in La Manga because they were short on players as quite a few of last season's Under-23s had gone to Kenya with the first team. Morgan only played the last 12 minutes in Kenya.

The Under-23s put in a good performance against Swindon Town, a mix of first/reserves, only losing to a 87th. minute header.

Heading south to see the boys today. You can never expect a great game but it'll be nice to see the boys in the flesh again. I'll be looking out for Delph!!
