Everton reveal away kit for 2019-20

Wednesday, 24 July, 2019 75comments  |  Jump to most recent

Everton will be in salmon pink again when they wear their away colours this season after the club and Umbro unveiled the new second strip for 2019-20.

It marks a return to colours echoing the club's past that have been revived intermittently on change kits since the 1990s.

The press release for the new strip explains that the Living Coral colour "takes its cue from the kit worn by Everton for the club's first league title-winning season in 1890/91" on which the team wore a salmon-coloured outfit that predated the permanent adoption of royal blue jersey in the 1901-02 season.

The shirt also incorporates a subtle two-tone sash that harks back to the black and scarlet sash kit that had earned Everton the nickname "the Black Watch" a decade earlier.

The 2019/20 away kit is available to pre-order at evertondirect.com and from the Everton One and Everton Two megastores. It will be available to buy in person at those two shops from Thursday 1st August.

I like it, but as in previous years they'll probably hardly ever wear it and wear whatever clown vomit that is produced for the third kit instead.

Love that. Everton and salmon pink have always been a good combination.

Means we'll need a third strip for Palace though?

If previous years are anything to go by, it'll be two colours that clash plus a large splash of glow in the dark fluorescent yellow.

I can't say it's a bad kit, but feel it's becoming another money making yearly farce changing 'kits' every season, which are not cheap to start with, anyone with a couple of kids who want the new ones as they come out, could be well on the way to bankruptcy.

I think it's probably been white and Umbro threw it in the washing machine with a pair or red knickers. Rather than dump it they've probably just thought fuck it that lot will buy anything, and left it

Thank god it's not a player we are revealing, you know, something that will improve the team. Just getting fed up with the talk and lack of action.

What colour are the shorts and socks?

Tony. I think they're dark blue mate. The shorts are deffo.

Hopefully the third kit is black or white and they'll only ever wear the blue or third kit.

I may be in the minority here but I actually think umbro are on a roll here.

Last years home, this years home and this years away are all excellent kits.
Much better than some of the past offerings.

I do like this. Was always a fan of the Salmon pink and Blue but it would have been nice to see that Archibald Leitch pattern incorporated. It's a bit of a minor gripe, and relevant to all our current kits but I always think the logo and club badge are too far up the chest by a couple of inches especially as the Sport Pesa logo is rather 'minimalist' and unimaginative. Makes it all look a bit 'busty' if you know what I mean.

Pretty disgusting. Away kit should be white for me. An inverted version of the home.

Spurs have done exactly that this year and it looks very smart.

Daniel, James,

Me too, I prefer the 'Cod White' away strips to the 'Salmon Pink'.

I even prefer the 'smoked haddock yellow' one we've had in the past.

Can't we have the amber and blue with a collar from the 70s. I've still got mine and will save me a lot of dosh too.

News now has our 3rd kit as a navy blue v neck (on a leaked page).

Not sure yet about the pink one, but ideal for my little girl.

That will be poorest selling EFC kit of all time.

Why the fuck do they shoot themselves in the foot so often?

Who the hell gives the OK for these kits, I'd like to know?

David Pearl
28 Posted 24/07/2019 at 12:12:57
Well... it's different.

My favourite kit of the last few years was that green and orange comic strip third one that sold out really quickly and I never had chance to get it.

Brian, pity they didn't see any more demand after they sold out. How often have they ever sold out of kits?

I can't believe how many players we still need to both buy and get rid of in such a short space of time.

I liked the old Salmon pink with blue stripes was that late '80's? It was supposedly a copy of the original away kit.

43 Posted 24/07/2019 at 15:07:29
I quite like it. It's different, plain and salmon has long been a colour we've used.

I wonder if we've announced it today because we'll be wearing it against Wigan tonight?

Jamie Crowley

They used Theo to model it, so I guess we are keeping him?

Thought he'd be gone this summer for sure.

Breaking news that PSG have agreed a £28 million fee for Idrissa Gana Gueye!

That's a pure piss take!

We sell our player of the season for roughly the same amount Villa spent on Tyrone Mings!

£28 million in today's market won't even get you Doucoure's right boot!

With my pink one of course Brian.

About 15 seconds into the first game of the season, everyone forgets they give a shit about what they're wearing anyway. We're all too busy slagging off Shneiderlin or picking on a new scapegoat to care anyway.

It's all the salmon to me. I think they did it just for the halibut.

Should have one with a yellow streak up the back for when we play the shite, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, in Europe, away in any cup or just away in general.
Brian Wilkinson

Wonder if they wear it for the Wigan game tonight.

Any other posters going the game tonight, far as I know we have sold 8,600 tickets allocated to us with a pay on the gate option as well.

Be like a home game for Everton, Delph will understand just how passionate us Evertonians are, some away following that for a friendly.

Mike Gaynes

Brent, can't pass up a chance to contaminate the mainstream.

Wait, that was an accidental joke. Seems my brain is contaminated as well.

Two weeks to go to start of season the only news is :

Walcott is staying (not Lookman); Gueye is gone, we still have no Striker, but we do have a scaldy jersey for away games.

I am hoping the next 2 weeks bring some better news, I am starting to envy Newcastle FFS :(

Will get shot down in flames but for ten Million could do a lot worse than Bas Dost.

Bas Dost?

Wasn't that a film about a U-Boat?

Nice one, Ray, this guy has a better strike rate than the U-boat.

Trying to return to errr some form of seriousness without being torpedoed, I think people who expect us to sign an out and out striker will be disappointed. I think Silva is looking for this left footed winger so that Richi can play in the middle. Front three then of Bernie, Richie, A.N.Other. J

If SSN are correct and Delph is Ganas replacement it's going to be another long season.

Only thing good about the kit is the crest. The top is fugly!

Umbro have no shame!

Sam Hoare
68 Posted 24/07/2019 at 18:25:17
SSN is rarely ahead of the game! Wouldn't trust them on rumours unless widely reported.

Some chat from France that we have bid for Gbamin of Mainz. Interesting young player who can play CM or CB but was dynamic last season in a similar role to Gueye. Could be a good replacement I think if there's any truth in it.

This salmon and blue combination works ok except people seem to be reinventing history with our" tradition " of wearing these colours??
I remember the first striped one which comically was in tribute to our " black watch" kit from over a hundred years ago.
This kit was black with a scarlet sash across the chest, this actually sounds an excellent kit to have as an away kit, first of its type, tradition, so unlike the home kit, its such a good idea we fuckin ignore it and do a tribute kit in salmon pink and blue.
Now I'm not imagining this as I have just read one of the daily mail pop ups say the same for this one " it's a tribute to the black and scarlet kit from 1901 ??.
Can someone else put my mind at rest that I haven't been colour blind all my life but salmon pink and blue isn't really like black and scarlet is it ? Like the way man city's sky blue kit isn't a tribute to the all blacks rugby kit or Brazils famous colours.

Kit looked well tonight on the team, wasn't a fan, but it's nice for my young daughter and looked good on the players.

Ps the game was shite.

Brian Wilkinson

Hard to read the names on the back of the new top unless they are close.

When you bring nine players on at ht and no public announcement who they were, and the programme not having half the players in the squad match Day programme, it was hard trying to work out who the number 5 was, who came on at Ht, looked like Gibson.

Thought he looked a lot more composed than Mina.

Agree Si, the game was shite.

It's not really intimidating though is it, prancing out of the tunnel in Salmon Pink.

What next ?. a Laura Ashley floral blouse ?

Perhaps it is a ploy. to strike fast whilst our opponents are still laughing their cocks off.

Tottenham have announced they're getting £320 million over 8 years off shirt sponsors.
What do we get, anyone know?
Scared to look at the answer it'll be that embarrassing.
