The ex-USA international succeeds Earnie Stewart who was promoted to sporting director last summer and to whom he will report. He will link up with head coach Gregg Berhalter at a training camp in Florida in the coming days to start his new role. McBride spent a brief period on loan with the Blues in the 2002-03 season, making eight appearances and scoring four goals.
