It's Adeniran again! The Blues midfielder picked up a sloppy Fulham pass and powered down the right before planting a sweet finish into the corner of the net. 3-1

He might just find himself a place on the first-team bench next week!

What's happened with Anthony Evans? Looks the business but never near the first team and (i think) not much of an impression on loan at blackpool. Shame.

Brent, it looked like a back 3 of Feeney, Ouzounidis and Branthwaite as CBs and John and Foulds as wing backs. I think I read Ouzounidis was subbed for the 2nd half so likely a back 4 then.

Ah Thanks Phill. that would make sense. That formation has been the one this season.

And last week they also reverted to a back four when Con was subbed.

Mate of mine has a brother living in Carlisle who goes to all their games. He raves about Branthwaite- six feet four, strong,quick, two good feet and good with the ball- says he could be better than Stones and we have got him ridiculously cheap.

Every time I see Evans, he looks class. Not the quickest, but he's got vision and his touch is pure gold.

I agree, Phil. I've always thought he's a player. As you say, great touch, great feet, his passing is exceptional (at U23 level) because of the vision you mention. But also his delivery, with his free-kicks being a lethal weapon.

The sad thing is he is now 21. I fear he's stagnated. He should have gone on loan this summer to a decent Championship side. Unsworth did say he tried to get him out on loan, but it never came off. No explanation was given as to why. Unsworth promised to try and get him out in this window, but we're into well into the final 2 weeks and he's still not left.

He needs a loan to have any chance to making the Everton side. Consider that Anthony Gordon is only 18 and that shows how much time he has lost. It's a real shame because the boy had talent.

The goalposts got quite the workout in this game.

Adeniran looks like a real horse -- he has developed impressively.
