Doubt Richi would be getting kicked all over the field with a Stubbs type on the pitch. He was hard, proper Merseyside hard but fair. Full disclosure, me mam grew up in the same part of Liverpool and I've still got family there. I'm glad we never built a stadium out there, but I'm also a little sad we didn't. There's not much opportunity in Kirkby and I'm not sure there ever will be. Full credit to Stubbs for beating the large odds. Alan Stubbs was most definitely “ One of us†a true Evertonian.Regarding Kirkby, Derek, a run down town as you say but also full of genuine people who brought their families up in Kirkby but came from town in Liverpool.
