Dale Self 2 Posted 11/12/2021 at 13:22:43 Finally someone gets carded for free-kick shithousery. Raul is an idiot. Would like to see that happen to a team wearing red. Rob Halligan 3 Posted 11/12/2021 at 13:24:41 Dale, probably the correct decision, but how shit a referee is Jon Moss? Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 11/12/2021 at 13:27:57 Raul Jiminez, good player but just shows, you can pay 'em millions of pounds... doesn't stop them being total bellends when their brains stop working. Second yellow, 48 seconds after his first, for not backing off 10 yards at a free-kick. Rob Halligan 5 Posted 11/12/2021 at 13:30:55 I thought his first yellow card was a bit harsh. He played the ball first, and was it even a foul? Danny O’Neill 6 Posted 11/12/2021 at 13:53:56 Only just started paying attention to this one so I didn't see the red.City patient but knocking. Wolves are well organised, although it could be a long half hour for the 10 men. Michael Kenrick 7 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:00:05 That's a pretty tough penalty call. Seems to hit his chest but then maybe ricochets off his upper arm. The ultimate downward trajectory off his arm means it was probably the right call. Rob Halligan 8 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:01:22 Penalty for Man City and converted by Sterling. Was it a harsh penalty though? Appeared to hit Moutinho under his armpit then bounced onto his elbow? Whatever, City lead. Dale Self 9 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:02:30 Rob, he's so shit he just dug in on a bad decision. That was close enough that no-one would fault him for switching but maybe that was VAR's fault for not overruling. Who cares… 1-0 City. Rob Halligan 10 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:03:33 £100M for Grealish, and he misses a sitter!! Dale Self 11 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:12:38 How much is Ait-Nouri? This is two solid performances against the 1st and 2nd teams in the Premier League. Michael Kenrick 12 Posted 11/12/2021 at 14:45:25 Really dreadful discussion of the penalty award. Amazing that Hoddle and Ferdinand cannot see the ball clearly coming off the back of his upper arm, above the elbow (after it hit his chest). Peter Walton was spot-on. Dale Self 13 Posted 11/12/2021 at 15:59:11 I would have preferred that to the Stevie love-in here in The States. John Keating 14 Posted 11/12/2021 at 16:01:11 I see Nathan Broadhead scored again seems to be doing well at Sunderland.Made up Man City won. Some said we play anti-football; first half Wolves were shocking, players wasting time and rolling all over the place. Bill Gall 15 Posted 11/12/2021 at 16:16:43 Is this the same ref we had against Arsenal? Chelsea score. Paul Birmingham 16 Posted 11/12/2021 at 16:41:30 The usual Salah and co at the Oscars. There's no level playing field when there's so many poor officials who don't have the spine to read through the likes of Salah and co, doing their blatant dives.Shocking v West Ham and today. But let's hope tomorrow Everton get a fair crack at a Palace, in terms of officials, refereeing fairly. Danny O’Neill 17 Posted 11/12/2021 at 16:57:31 I haven't seen any other than the City one, but how ironic that City, Liverpool & Chelsea all get penalties today.I'd rather be looking up than below us, but given our position today, not a bad set of results shaping up.Meaningless unless we control our own destiny and get points from our game. Opportunity to grab some breathing space and daylight given the past couple of months. Duncan McDine 18 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:08:39 Exactly my thoughts Danny. The City one hit his armpit and yet still was given after VAR. Can't comment on the RS and Chelsea until I've seen them but wouldn't be at all surprised if the marginal decisions have gone their way Dale Self 19 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:13:27 Agree with City's being a bad call. Thought Saladman deserved his because Ming bad his arm in while somewhat diving forward. Chelsea's looked a gift considering it was Rudiger(?) but I only saw one angle Bill Gall 20 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:25:25 Chelsea's second penalty was clear, Leeds player kicked Rudigers foot from behind. Danny O’Neill 21 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:42:10 Just watched the highlights.Mings gets done but I don't have a problem with the arm across the body. Centre Back union and all that. He didn't seem to grab him, so it's the next movement that gives the penalty for me. He looks like he stumbled or slipped and his momentum took him into Salah. The second Chelsea one raises the question of where your football ethos and honesty lies. There is a kick, but Rudiger makes sure he gets the decision. Some will point to him going down way too easy and it's a soft penalty. Others that he felt the contact, went down to get a decision in the probability he was just about to effectively win the game for his team with the last kick of the game. Rob Halligan 22 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:49:09 Chelsea's first penalty was a stonewaller. Don't even know how the referee missed it. VAR advised him to look at the pitch side monitor and he correctly gave it. Danny O’Neill 23 Posted 11/12/2021 at 17:59:57 It's penalty related.Just noted Rashford stopped as soon as he felt a shirt pull.In my opinion, he'd have been better carrying on as he'd have away from Karbak.Failing that, he could have played for the penalty had he got in the box. Dave Abrahams 24 Posted 11/12/2021 at 18:23:12 Watching the Norwich v Man Utd game and the Number 23 for Norwich was having a good game with a wand of a left foot and his gait was very similar to Dowell, our former player. Alas it wasn't him. I thought his potential had finally come to fruition, still time? Danny O’Neill 25 Posted 11/12/2021 at 18:48:39 Norwich giving this a good go.Watching the very brief highlights available on the Sky Sports App earlier, once again, Villa's keeper continues to impress me. Bill Gall 26 Posted 11/12/2021 at 19:05:19 Norwich were playing well. Debatable penalty against Ronaldo but you knew it would not be changed. Danny O’Neill 27 Posted 11/12/2021 at 19:19:42 I think Aarons showed a bit of inexperience and naivety.Put your arms up and make contact against a player like Ronaldo and he's going down. Same as Rudiger with the kick earlier. Both made sure they drew the decision.I mentioned Villa's keeper, but what about De Gea? Probably the reason this has stayed 0 - 0.Random observation and would be interested in the US cohort's few on John Sargent. Far too often in this match he's tried an extra touch or tried to do something complicated when an easier option was on. Dave Abrahams 28 Posted 11/12/2021 at 20:17:30 I think with the two penalties that Liverpool and Man Utd were awarded, it helped that the two players tackled were Salah and Ronaldo. A lot of other clubs might not have got those decisions in their favour. It came up on screen that Ronaldo has taken 174 penalties in his career!!Steven Gerrard said after the game: "It was a game of two penalties, they got theirs, we never got ours, it feels harsh.†Now he knows how dozens of teams have felt when they have gone home from Anfield, cheated. Michael Kenrick 29 Posted 12/12/2021 at 15:46:18 Oh dear... hopefully not speaking too soon but Newcastle struggling to turn things around. All very well saying they are the richest club in the world which is probably not correct anyway. Danny O’Neill 30 Posted 12/12/2021 at 15:49:16 Not a good day for Newcastle. Just let them get a win out of their system between now and the 30th or you know what's coming.Amusing discussion between Souness and Pardew pre match.Regardless of opinions on either, Pardew's comment that "its not always the aim of a big club to win trophies" was met with bemusement and a shaking of the head by the former Kopite.Says a lot about the mentality of that era of British managers. I mean Pardew by that. Peter Neilson 31 Posted 12/12/2021 at 16:11:32 Newcastle look terrible hopefully we repeat the Arsenal atmosphere and performance on the 30th. Would like to see the Koeman/Walsh dream team manage them. Even they might struggle to burn through £320Bn of blood money but they'd have a good go.
