Just saw the extended highlights of the Saints vs Coventry game, Thierry Small making his debut. Probably a debut to forget too. He nearly headed in a ridiculous own goal and was at fault for Saint's opener.

He was hauled off at half-time, being replaced by Walker-Peters who got their winner. Looked like he was very much out of his depth.

I see someone mentioned Small above, funny as I thought of him today and wondered if he jumped way too soon. He would have got game time this season for us.

I think VAR is a joke. Why have it when they just throw it right back at the referee in many cases ?
So many penalty cases and many times the referee get's it wrong. Older fans will recall the famous ''no call'' by the Butcher from Wolverhampton Jack Taylor in the '66 cup final when Alex Young was downed by Springett.
Wasn't Pickford on Toney yesterday exactly the same with the referee right in having no hesitation.

Exactly Danny. It was certainly a high challenge and worthy of a red. The other thing is, you then have to take an outfield player off to bring the sub goalie on. That outfield player could well have had an influence later on, and played some part in any goal, so in effect its a double let off for the RS.

The VAR is a joke, clearly they don't use it at our old ground, only when it suits the RS.

VAR isn't the problem. It's the solution to poor officials as it makes it clear and there for all to see.

The problem is the officials. Whether on the pitch or at Stockley Park, they're still making the wrong decisions even though it's there to see. And they're not held accountable in explaining.

Improve the standard of official & accountability. VAR just show what happened.

Danny, you're right, it's not the actual technology that's the problem, it's the people looking at these decisions. The technology is the video screens, the cameras relaying all these images back to Stockley Park, and it's all there in black and white for everyone to see. The technology can't speak and therefore can't lie, yet these shithouse officials are too shit scared to give a decision against the RS.

I was told yesterday that Kevin Friend who gave the penalty (Haha, penalty my arse) for the RS against Palace the other week, was demoted to the Championship this weekend. Big deal, that doesn't benefit Palace in anyway, and no doubt he'll be back doing Premier League games in midweek.

Every single official in the Premier League are totally biased towards the RS and it's doing my head in.

The Premier League hierarchy must be on a backhander from the RS board, and it's bringing the game into disrepute.

Every team that plays them rarely gets the rub of the green with the administration of VAR.

Incredible how their keeper stayed on today, and that impacted on the result.

I was unfortunate enough to be in a car today listening to the 5Live commentary. The slavish praise for everything red actually became pretty funny, it was so OTT.

Everything Van Dijk did was “imperious”, the excellence of their kit was described at length, the most knowledgeable supporters bowed to, while at the end St Klopp congratulating the Cardiff goal scorer “because that's the kind of guy he is”. Pretty much the only mention of Cardiff.

Unfortunately our own Pat Nevin was as guilty.

That Brendan Johnson who we were linked with looks an absolute fantastic prospect. If Richarlison was to be sold in the summer, this lad would be an excellent option.
